Lately, there's been an outbreak in being overly politcially correct. I was watching Sesame Street with my younger cousin the other day and found that the cookie monster... NO LONGER EATS COOKIES! WTF? As the show progressed, Bert and Ernie were living in seperate houses. HUH? And the Grouch was not a grouch... HE WAS NICE!?
I think a little bit of politically correct-ness is fine, but we've gone WAY too far. Discuss. |

Sometimes political correctness goes too far. (rant ahead)
Disney's next animated film, The Frog Princess, was originally about an African-American (can't say black, or someone will get offended) chambermaid named Maddy, who lived in New Orleans during the 1920's. Of course, the politically correct crowd started whining, complaining that Maddy was a stereotypical low-class name, and that her occupation "didn't keep with the image of a Disney Princess", despite the fact that Snow White and Cinderella were maids too.
So Disney reacted by changing the name of the movie to The Princess and the Frog, changing Maddy's name to Tiana, (which IMO sounds like a ghetto-trash name, not a name from the 1920's) and making her some sort of royalty.
I still trust Disney to make it a good movie, and it'll be great to see a 2D animated film in theaters again... but seriously. |

WTF!?!? Sesame Street?!!? Holy crap they friggen suck!! but why should I be surprised while Hillary Clinton and congress try to F!@# around with video games because San Andreas is too violent while 40 years ago they all sat in front of the F!@#$%G boob tube to watch Jerry pummel Tom with a board and take a cheese grater to his ass, and Tweety drop an anvil on Sylvester's face!!! Oi!! I'm starting to hate anyone over 35... |
