But not just stuff like "Paralyze", etc.
I mean making your own status effects for your own items, BASED off of major ones like Poison, that would drain HP, stop the user from posting for a while, change the user's font temporarily, etc...
For example, if someone drank a lot of the item "Beer" or "Rum", they'd get the status problem called "Drunk", that turns their name and the text they type slightly greenish.
