I'm sick and tired of having to trash all my images just because they're bigger then 32 kb. Francis, can we please, please link to them ? Or would that need to much bandwith ? Please ? I wanted to create over 50 items today, had all the images ready, but they are all too large, so I can't use them, and they are already so tiny. So is it possible for us to just link to them ? |

You mean 32 pixels?
Well, the items need to be a standard size, or else things would look messy. How large are yours? |

32 time 32 pixels. It's just the file size is too large, he says "No more then 32 kb. Rawr." So, if the size would stay but we could link to them, I could use my "high-def" Z&W screenshots I edited in hours of work. |

20KB is huuuge for a 32x32 image.
Example:
Here is your original goblet at over 23KB:
I opened your image with Photoshop, did Save For Web with maximum settings and got this:
Identical, and less than 3KB
Also if you save as gif (or png), you can have transparency:
This one is less than 1KB
--------------------
You could use a similar program like Paint.NET to get similar results. 90% of all the user item images have been under 4KB. (Thats 2000 images BTW) |

Hooray, I feel like such an idiot now. Oh, Unicorn turds.
.. What's the difference between normal and for web saving ?
Oh, and It'd be still grand if we could just link to them, because tediously uploading them over and over is kind of me-ish. |

Save For Web optimizes the image more for smaller file size. In photoshop, when you do save for web, it displays multiple versions of the image, and you can change the settings on the right to compare different compressions. |
