Two rants, actually.
So, there's this guy at my school. He and I have known each other for about 4 years. We play video games together, go out for coffee, and spend hours just talking about stuff. But he's just a friend, and I don't want him to ever be anything more than that. But, since he's a guy and I'm a girl, people assume that we're dating. It's *crag* stupid. If we were both girls no one would assume anything, but because we're different genders we can't just be good friends? What the *crag* hell. I don't want to be romantically involved with him, or ANYONE ELSE. Aaaaaaaaaaugh.
And on a completely different subject...
I went to the Seattle Asian Art Museum yesterday. Fascinating stuff. But I thought it was really weird that the gift shop was full of How To Draw Manga books, rather than How To Make Those Awesome Katagami Stencils books, since the museum focused more on ancient Asian art than modern art. I stopped drawing manga years ago, but out of curiosity I flipped through some of the books. Why is it that most of those artists can't draw to save their lives? In this book, the artist draws everyone with the same face. In that picture, the girl's eyes are misaligned. In that one, the giant robot is flying through space, but his feet are flat, as if he's standing on something... while he's flying. Also, for the last few years, my dad has bought How To Draw Manga books for me for Christmas, and for my birthday. Every time he does, I tell him that I'm not interested in drawing manga, and that if he wants to get me a how-to-draw book, he should get something on realism. And every time, he apologizes, and promises not to do it again. But my dad is old and forgetful, and buys more manga books for me anyway. :/ |

It's because people are dating obsessive.
It's because people are manga and anime obsessive nowadays. |
