I thought about bringing this up earlier today because of a short conversation I had with somebody about the issue.
What are your views on sexism, and how can the problems of sexism be dealt with? It is, definitely, still a problem, despite how far society has come.
Now, of course, sexism isn't limited to just males- I have seen, read about, and met females that believe they are superior to males, as well. It's a problem for people of all races, and both sexes. |

I'm not sure how to deal with it... well, I guess I start by trying not to be guilty of it myself. It disgusts me quite a bit. I'm equally adamant about racism, and even ageism. I'm an anti-ism person! |

Sexism is 100% wrong. Everyone should be treated as equals. There are marriage and reprouductions and without one gender that is not possible. I do loathe sexists. |

Ever notice how, in just about every comic book, cartoon, or whatever, the main male character is wacky and stupid, and the main female character is calm, smart, and gets away with beating up the main male character? If it was the other way around, people would call it sexist. And that's stupid. |

Yes... but the main male character is allowed to be average-looking, or even ugly.
The female character is always "beautiful" (aka stick thin with huge bouncy tits.) |

But in S.S. class when we learned about the medieval days and such, the guys felt all powerful because they could rule over us and such. Maybe sexism is just human nature. |

Saying one sex isn't superior to the other in some respects is simply ignorant. Of course males are better at certain things, as are females. It is simple genetics. Is one all powerful and undeniably better than the other? Of course not. Males and Females are not equal though. That is fact. That doesn't mean either should be discriminated against though. And of course, there is always the slot machine of DNA to deal with. I think O Chunks and CD have already proven that. |

while I'm open to accept what others have said about men and women's differences, why should we fight? I personally think that fighting about our differences is stupid. If we cannot get along...then we are doomed. we were meant to love.

*sigh* such is all fighting. I don't understand why we fight about our differences. Why do we care? It won't affect the way we already feel, and nothing good comes from fighting. |

Why do you think that humans are the only species that has an elaborate spoken language? Because of racism that is built into our nature. We have racist'd out all of our predecessors that had spoken language too. Racism, sexism, age-ism... They are actually part of one group of human nature. The desire to be better. |

I strive to better myself, but not to out do others. At least in most occasions. Perhaps our generation is just evolving in terms of thought. |

The female character is always "beautiful" (aka stick thin with huge bouncy tits.) | I hate that word 'tits' | I hate the word 'lesbian', but nobody has ever gone out of their way to stop saying it (not that I would want them to), so I don't think you can complain D8
And about the rest of the stuff in the quotes... I dunno, it's hard to say. I mean, my main female character is pretty, but she's pretty spazzy and indecisive (and a stalker lol). And I make it a rule not to draw characters with bigger boobs than myself, unless it's someone else's design. ... and none of my characters ever beat each other up for no reason.
I try not to be sexist myself, at least. I think there's good things about both genders :3 |
