I think users should have the feature of locking their own topics. For example, if a topic becomes outdated, or immediately turns into flame war/some other undesired result, we would be able to lock it without needing a mod's presence. |

I remember having a similar if not identical idea like this. I'll have to say yes. |

I have came from a forums where you could do it as long as you had 1500 posts.
It's quite nifty and useful, so, it should be done. |

We need this, because almost every forum has it. |

Whoa! Cool! It's nice having power over our posts! But actually, unlike you, I haven't seen this in another forum. (Even though I have power over all posts! I'm a mod there) |

1500 posts? Sounds fair enough! | I was mentioning that as a bad example. There they conside rpeople with such postcount "honorary", and they have some privileges, which sucks given they are being benefited directly just because of postcount. And I complain even while I'm benned from there and still am the top poster. :/

So, yeah. As SSG said, if someone posted a RP and bad it went, the person can lock away by him/herself. |

Support'd Although this may be abused a little e.g. keeping locking a topic if somebody disagrees with with topic creator (but not starting a flame war).
Ok, that's a bad example... |
