French horn is a good thing to play if you want to get in because not a lot of other people play it. o___O;
... I have no musical talent at all, but my cousins play french horn and even though their musical talent is mediocre at best they're elevated to school-band-gods just because no one else plays french horn o_O

Good luck...
I quit Band in 7th Grade because the teacher screamed at us all the time. He everntually got fired for hitting a kid with a marker and smacking another across the face. |

I remember we had ONE french horn in band during middle school and she got to go on all the band trips because of that. |
