I haven't unlocked a single character through SSE yet...I think Lucario will be my first. Here's who I've got so far:
-Ness
-Marth
-Captain Falcon
-Luigi
-Snake
-Falco
Yeah...none of them through SSE. |

I got Luigi, Captain Falcon, Toon Link, and Jigglypuff through standard battles. I really wish they wouldn't have let you unlock them through SSE, it takes all the fun and discovery out of it. |

Yeah, fighting to unlock characters is fun. That's why I'm not going to refer to the method of fight and unlock as "the right way". |

Snake
Sonic
Ganondorf
Jigglypuff
And if you count the Subspace Emissary ways of unlocking them, Wolf and Toon Link.
