It only counts if you did Boss Battles with Fox after SSE for Wolf, and if you got ROB by battling 160 VS Matches. Battling a certain number of VS Matches for them counts too.

I unlocked most through SSE, but Ness, Marth, and Jiggly were all through normal unlocking. |

Pretty much the same, a hybrid of SSE and other methods of unlocking. |

I beat all of the single player events 1-20 (or whatever it lets you go to without unlocking other characters) and then once I beat 21 it said challenger approaching. |
