I found an awesome website with some theories, and after reading the epistles, I msut say - They are right. How could I overlook it ? how many hours of my life have I wasted reading the blue brick and the red brick ?
To make it short: Eragon sucks. It's nothing but a big Gary Stu self-insertion fanfic that somehow got published. And before you repla,y please read the epistles here: http://www.anti-shurtugal.com/epistle1.htm http://www.anti-shurtugal.com/epistle2.htm http://www.anti-shurtugal.com/epistle3.htm http://www.anti-shurtugal.com/epistle4.htm http://www.anti-shurtugal.com/epistle5.htm http://www.anti-shurtugal.com/epistle6.htm http://www.anti-shurtugal.com/epistle7.htm http://www.anti-shurtugal.com/epistle8.htm
Oh, and if you read it, you'll understand this:
"Ah, ah, ah, ah - Staying alive ! Staying alive !"
Hilarious. And with style, and, the best part - Calm.
And epic because of Third Person speaking, or rather Bleckspeak. |

Oh, God, Eragon.
I loved that series. Then I reread it.
Arya is a two-dimensional truckload of fan-candy, Obi-Brom... well, you can guess his problem, and Paolini ADMITTED that Eragon was a Gary-Stu. Not quite in those words, but...
It has its moments. Unfortunately, it seems to fall victim to every single fantasy cliché in the book. Dead mentor? Check. Luke-I-Am-Your-Father? Check. Magical prophecy? Don't get me started. DX
I guess I'll read the Green Brick. Just to figure out how it ends. And to see if it has any redeeming qualities.
lol sorry I'm ranting again. D: |

I never read Eragon or any of the related books, but if they're as awful as the movie I think I can skip them. |

Wow...that Star Wars comparison was sadly funny. And I was looking forward to the third book, too. |

I never even bothered with those books, because I simply hate almost all fantasy. o_o;
I like Lord of the Rings, and Redwall, which isn't really "fantasy" fantasy, because the only thing that makes it "fantasy" as opposed to just fiction is the fact that the characters are talking animals. If they were people, then it would just be like... a fun fiction story taking place in some medieval-like setting. Because it doesn't have, like, any magic or anything in it. Just fighting animals. o_o; |

I don't read books usually, but I'm angry to say I played Eragon, a bad, bad game. |

I'm sorry to say that, but people who play video games that weren't video games to begin with deserve whatever soul-swallowing abomination the creators throw at them to milk the franchise.
Video games that didn't come into being as video games inevitable suck hardcore 99 % of all cases. Exception: TBA |

...I just realized all of that. ._.; Admittedly, reading Eragon gave me a headache. And this is coming from the girl who read the fifth Harry Potter book in one day. @_< |

Read moar. Lord Brocktree is pwnsome because it has Dotti. And Pearls of Lutra is pwnsome because it has Arven.
Yeah, the quality of Redwall books is kinda directly proportional to how funny the comic relief is.
I haven't read any of the new ones... I think Loamhedge is the last new one I read. *needs moar* |

Mossflower is a prequel. You don't really have to read them in order, sometimes there are two that are supposed to be read one after another (i.e. Mariel and Bellmaker) but you don't need to in order to "get it." Legend of Luke/Lord Brocktree are kinda supposed to be the "first" books, and the newer ones really don't fit anywhere in particular in the time line so one must assume they're the most recent.
It's kinda like LoZ. Like, some of them you can tell... some of them you can't... and teh woarld may knevar kno. |
