Soon, the USA will have a new president. Let's look back at our current one, soon to be our previous one. What do you think of him? Why do you think that? Note- This topic is for serious, deep, and intellectual discussion. Don't just post short, simple messages. Put depth and meaning into your posts.
I supported Bush when he first started out. He seemed to be doing a pretty good job, and showed promise; however, soon, around the late third and early fourth year of his first term, he started to go downhill, and at a fast rate. I won't call him the worst president in US history, for we have had worse. However, he definitely wasn't a good president.
Then again, history can do weird things. 40 years from now, he could be viewed upon with a more positive opinion than today. Or, of course, he could still be seen as a president that sucked.
So, what are your opinions on the controversial President, soon to leave office? |

I can't believe we reelected him. I mean, come on. We're being led by a moron here--and that should have been apparent by the end of his first term. |

Personally, I think electing George Bush in the first place was a huge mistake. It seems that he thinks the United States has an infinite supply of money. Well, he's been making it true by printing more and more, causing the dollar to become virtually worthless. All this does is make our debt higher and higher. The annoying thing is that our generation is the one that's going to be paying down the line. It's ludicrous, and unnecessary.
I have a feeling Obama's going to get the title of President. He seems to have the right mindset for turning this country around for the better. His ideals are respectable, and his views can match up with the majority of the US population nowadays. |

If I can say one positive thing about old Georgy. Is this.
Have we as Americans, had an attack on American soil post 9-11? We may have had scares, and columbine esq shootings, but at very least we have not had an attack by a terrorist organization.
I like the strides made for our personal security, though I may not completely agree with the Patriot Act. It has done some good in preventing terror strikes. (this is of course If I turn a complete blind eye to those profiled by it.)
I disagree with the war in Iraq. but I believe we should strengthen the police force (as we have been doing) and if my ears do not deceive me the news is finally starting to broadcast some of the good of the war. |

I'm not American, but I want Bush verily away from the government, for two reasons.
1. I know what it's like. Our president, Lula, is a total dumbass that has been reelected. 2. Bush is full of his selfish deeds and international plots. I don't want my country, which is already *crag* up enough, to suffer from his influence any longer. |

well the sad thing is, they won't teach us stuff relating to Canada. D: I just hate Bush because he made a lot of people lose money and jobs. And because of him, a lot of people died in that war. |

Thank you O'Chunks! I think he's done a better job then any of the other canidates could have done. I swear I'm gonna move to Canada if Clinton becomes president simply because she's gonna turn our country into a socialist nation(everybody is equal, gets the same payment no matter what they work for or even work at all). What would you do in Bush's place?
Face it, whatever you do, people will hate you for it. Doesn't matter what it is, you'll always get people who side against you. He's protected this country and took the unexpected job of sorting out our country after September 11. Yes, he makes mistakes, sometimes big ones, but everyone does. I respect him for his ability to handle all this crap and more crap thrown at him in his position.
Unfortunately with the news currently focused on Clinton and Obama, I doubt anyone is going to vote Republican because no one will know what the Republican canidate's veiws are, because the media is so focused on Obama and Hillary. They will pull our troops out of Iraq, and then what's going to happen? What was going on before we went over seas. Terrorists will see that as a weakness. With us pulling back, they will strike. ((BTW this is Paper Peach with the green text))
I also agree with O Chunks about Bush because he hadn't been in office for a year when 9/11 happened and okay so he has made a few mistakes, but you know, we are all humans and nobody is perfect no matter how hard we try. |

Maybe I can blame the lack of mother games on Bush, since We've never gotten a *shot many MANY times*
Well, I don't learn about the current economy, but I do agree he's a moron, and only one thing I agree with him on. Stopping the global warming crap. My dad said when he was young, it was always cold. It's just a reverse ice age, just not sever. Probably like the one in the 1600's, where it was just... cold. That's all. They made a fuss on that too ya know. |
