I woke up today with a huge headache, and a 99.3 degree fever. My parents forced me to do yard work all morning, completely ignoring the fact that I fainted TWICE. When I asked them why they were forcing me to do this, their response was: "Because you are a boy, and boys have to do work, no matter how *crag* up they may feel". ;; |

There's nothing wrong with being male, it's when there's sexist people like your parents when there's a downside. |

... Well, if those are the only choices you plan on sticking with, I'd go with the first one. |

You can't get a sex change until you're 18, you know. |

Sex change if you REALLY want to go that far.
I can't really say much myself... something like this has never happened to me so I'm really sorry that I can't help. |

So your dad is sexist against guys? That's messed up. |

Your parents have no right to treat you like that. Call the authorities. |

I agree with the people who have said to call child services or the authorities. I believe that your parents shouldn't have to make you work if you have a fever. It will usually make the fever worse, if you try to do some manual labor. Especially doing work when you have fainted twice is not good at all. You should be getting plenty of sleep, and not be working.
Seeing how your parents have treated you, we can assume that they are being sexist people. You should definitely talk to someone about this, maybe your councilor, teacher, or whom ever you trust (probably an adult). They may be able to help you with this problem. |

Sexist families suck, I should know.
My dad makes me clean, fetch him stuff, answer calls, and parent my brother all the time. He's made me miss school just to clean before. Hell, yesterday, he asked me to take his shoes off for him. Both sides of sexism suck. :/ |

Your parents are sexist, but do not let that turn you sexist against males, as well. Keep that in mind. Anyway, yeah, they're wrong if they're making you do difficult work when you're sick; especially when you're fainting. You should tell somebody about it, or something. |

Did they help you while doing your yard work? I mean if you fainted and they didn't help you they could get arrested. |
