Apparently for most characters, side tilts and smashes can be directed up and down by pressing the controll stick diagonally instead of just left or right or holding up or down for tilt attacks. when using Side Smash, press up or down While Either charging a smash attack or using the C stick for the attack. (at first, I only thought it worked with R.O.B's Smash attacks since it can aim its head for one of th e special attacks).

I wanted to post it because
1. It can be pretty usefull, R.O.B's Upper Forward smash has helped me well
2. I never thought I would find a possibly new technique so I wanted to see how many people already know about this (chances are, I am not the first person to mention this, but I may be one of the first to list the attacks it applies to)

I don't see much of a difference in damage between neutral side "a"s and
aimed side "a"s.

The point is it can increase where you can attack with them, not the damage, I never said it increased damage from the attack.

It's handy when you're giant and can't hit smaller players o.o I get so annoyed when I can't hit smaller players
