Once again, Wii owners get the shaft as Harmonix, EA, and MTV announce more details on the upcoming Wii port of Rock Band.
- Same developers as PS2 version
- June 22nd release - $169.99
- Includes the software, drums, microphone and a wireless guitar.
- Does not use the Wii Remote.
- Includes 63 songs including five bonus songs
- No online, no downloadable songs
| Harmonix BS wrote: | | "When developing Rock Band for the Wii platform, we focused on making the core gameplay experience as solid and enjoyable as possible while tailoring it specifically to the strengths of the platform. The Wii version still contains the robust four-player band experience and all the fun at the core of other versions of Rock Band," said Harmonix in a statement. "However, because the Wii's online capabilities and potential have yet to be fully realized, we wanted to wait before we explored online functionality for Rock Band to ensure that players get the high-quality of online performance they've come to expect." |
Give me a break, do they think we are stupid? How are the "tailoring it to the strenghts of the platform" when they don't use any features of said platform? They must think Guitar Hero III used voodoo magic to get online play and wii-remote support.... and at a cheaper price than other consoles. This game could have sold millions, but not anymore.

Wait a minute! I read no online DOWNLOADS..... YOU CRAGGING SUCK HARMONICS WHY THE HELL DOES Wii HAVE TO GET THE STUPID STUFF< THE WORN DOWN VERSIONS? This is why I almost didn't buy a Wii. SSBB is the only game that is keeping me from killing myself from that decision. |

I hate to say it, I really do, but the Wii is not a good system, hardware wise.
Sure, it has the cheap cost, but it is as powerful as the first Xbox. Nintendo, in my opinion, needs to make their next system more powerful.
Perhaps this is why Rock Band does not want to make new controllers for the Wii... You are right, though, they are not using the Wii's functions at all...
Sorry if that was a tad off topic... |

I already have it so...
Hooray for me.
And did you really think they would have online? This is Nintendo we are talking about, remember? |

Those bastards. This is worse than Konami leaving MGS1 in the original Playstation format. |

Well, $170 is really a bit too much, compared to $90 for Wii Fit, if you really think about it.

Guys, we lived without wi-fi before. When would we need it now? You're lucky we have it at all.
By the way, this is the start of a new fad.

Graphical power has nothing to do with it. Online capabilities has nothing to do with it. The real reason why they dont use the Wii Remote or online? It's going to be a direct port of the PS2 version. Two for one deal.
They think we won't notice. They think it will sell no matter what they do. They think all those families out there will gobble up Rock Band just like did Wii Sports. Well, they failed to realize that Wii is the cheapest console out there too, and $169.99 is not going to sell on Wii, especially not when everyone already has Guitar Hero III. |

Except for a nerdy drummer who doesn't like guitars. I don't exactly 'care' for it. You don't get to hit things! D: |

The way you said "Nerdy drummer" kinda reminds me of how Dana Carvey, as Garth Algar on the Wayne's World movie, really kicked ass on a set of drums in a music store.

I already have the game for Xbox 360 but this is bullshit. Its like Rock Band developers did this on purpose to help the sales for the other ports. |

Honestly, if you guys have three other people to play with the package is still more than worth it. I bought it for 360, and the only thing I've used the online for is to download new songs. I mean I've played online a little, but it's never as fun as playing with real people. And even then, I've only boughten a few songs. |
