My laptop can't get any internet connection and my main comp does. I installed AVG and uninstalled it. So wtf?

Some laptops require you to have a Broadband Connection Card , as mine does. I would look for one that corresponds with your router. If this works, then you could reinstall AVG and see if that affects the connection.
