There are about 500 or so unused accounts lying around here, obfuscating the memberlist and wasting filespace...
How about we send every account that hasn't been used in a month an email saying that it'll be deleted in two weeks if it's not used, with a link that refreseh your "I'm here !" stat to avoid deletion, and/or a " 'K, Underwhere me." link.
And their items and coins get thrown into a pot and an active member gets it all in the lottery.
I think this is at least worth consideration. It would unblock good names for people who want to join, remove some unpleasant memories and simply get some space. Maybe the site would even run smoother, or bandwiths get some slick when loading the memberlist. I think cleaning up the memberlist would make is nicer.
I don't expect it to become a Hall of Fame, Hall of Shame and Commoner's Room, but clean. |

This.
Only the cleanup should be manual for safety. That would cost wuite a bit of time, but we can wait until Francis is done with anything else, isn't it? |

Occasionally I purge the member list of users who have never been active. But if a member has ever been active at any time, I let them stay. Old members have come back before. |

What about the one-post people ? Also, a) they can rejoin if they want to, and B) they get an email notification saying "It'll be deleted if you don't care." That way, maybe we could drag in some Old Guard. |

I don't see anything wrong with this idea. We could file it down to members with under 20 posts who have not been active for two months, or something like that. As long as the email is sent, though. I was gone for several months, I would have hated to have my account deleted... |

As long as the Digibutter Email is one you really use, so your main Email, there's no possibility of a wrong deletion.
And if you don't use your main Email for Digibutter, your own fault. *Digi-xtremist* |
