The same "respect", "no flame" and "no spam" rules mentioned in the Religion thread apply here, as well.
What are your views on abortion, and why do you hold those views?
Generally, I don't agree with abortion; however, I do believe there are cases that justify it. Here's one of my posts from another forum:

I agree with you on the most part, however - I do not view it as something "horrible" for someone to get an abortion, like most of the media portrays it as. If someone wishes to get an abortion, that's their personal choice.

I agree that it should be the womens choice. ( not the males lol ) I mean, if she wants to get rid of it, so be it. I do feel it's cruel and all, but there's nothing I can do to stop it, they have their own reasons for it, and I probably can't understand that in my shoes. o.o; And seeing as I don't know people who are getting an abortion personally, it's not like I'm crushed ever second that it happens.
But of course I also agree with all the side options there is, other than abortion. |

That's pretty much abortion in a nutshell right there. IT's a cheat, an easy way to get out of a situation. Sometimes it's necessary and can't be helped, which is already. If it can be helped, if you make the conscious decision to have it, that's okay as well. Everyone has a choice of what they do with their lives and how they screw it up, that's just them.
That doesn't make them any better people and doesn't stop them from being losers in life, though.
Also, on the issue of teen pregnancy, I believe that a child should be raised no matter the circumstances. Taking responsibility for an awful mistake is far more important than cheating your way out of it. And what a beautiful mistake it is... |

I actually believe Education > Procreation. If a teenager gets pregnant yet still wants to further their education, I believe Abortion isn't the wrong choice at all. My mother was actually prevented to going to college because she got pregnant, and I sort of wish she had taken the opportunity to get a better career.
After all, children are our future. However, if you're undereducated you won't be prepared to deal with them/know what to pass on. |

I think abortion should not be used because someone was stupid and forgot to use a condom.
I think abortion should be used if the woman needs it (like Crump said)
There was one a girl who got r-ped, and got pregnant. She was not allowed to abort because it was "wrong" for her family and community. I forget if she ended up getting it or if she had the baby. |

And besides, most people whom these cases relate to aren't ready for a child. It won't only have a horrible life, but it'll contribute to over-population. |

I believe that it is their choice to have an abortion, and that should be that. The embryo hasn't reached true consciousness yet, so that should hardly be an argument against in in my opinion. Beyond that, it is the parent's decision. |

Exactly. If abortion were to be completely banned, not only would we be overpopulated, but there would be many more child abuse cases all over the world.
And that issue is already bad enough. |
