Every time you:
Go off road
Fall off the track
Bump into a wall
Your letter/star rank may go down. Avoid these and you should get at least 1 star. Rank in the races isn't so important. |

I believe that you have to get 1st Place on all the courses, in the cup that which you are doing. Also, depending on how many seconds, you beat the 2nd place computer, will also increasing your ranking. I have a few three star rankings, and a few two star rankings, and I’ve been using that theory, and usually when I get ahead about 15 seconds, and beat the computer, I generally, at the end, will get either a three star rank or a two star rank. |

Actually, rank is important. I got so far back, and when I went back up, I got a A for that. |

No. You have to do all those things you posted, and be in 1st place to get a 1-3 star ranking. |
