Doopliss sat glumly in his leather chair leaning his head over his cloaked arm. Incessant strident precipitation splattered against the glass windows, trickling down slowly into miniscule slithers of water.
The silk moonlit trees swayed generously against the navy night sky. Silver clouds hung lowly over the grim streets of twilight town. Market day as always was wednesday. The great hustle and bustle of the small town could be heard from up by in the steeple even against amidst the pouring rain.
Doopliss felt rather alone, aimlessly clicking random buttons on a Television remote with a small click as they were pressed by imaginary fingers. The television featured on every channel a hissing sound accompanied by flickering static. Doopliss smirked at every new channel as all he has ever seen for years is static, nothing ever changed for him. Day in day out, he sat glumly staring into a broken televsion.
The hoot of owls was dimished by harsh cracks of thunder like whips against the side of a concrete wall. Flashes of lightning darted across th window panes causing sparks to fly everywhere. The humble duplighost did not even flinch since he was used to these occurances now since it rained every day now at the Creepy Steeple. The rumours of a monster plunged into the enchanted depths of the steeple diminshed and now no one would care if he fled the steeple and walked into town thanks to the heroic mustached plumber.
His acting career was over since no one wished to watch him any more since the theatre in twilight town was burned down by vandals several years ago. His parrot was now moved into the living room uttering "Shine Get! Shine Get!". Doopliss had an uncontrollable urge to turn around and throttle it by the neck. But his broedom kept him from moving.
With great haste he rose from the slumped leather seat, brushed his cloak and grabbed his pointed hat which was now fading with age and gloomily walked through the stone door and plumetted into the stairwell cushioned by a rusted spring mechanism. He bounded down the damp stone steps and pushed awide the wooden door to be greeted by boos.
They lifted him into the air and softly dropped him into the floor below. Yet more materialising boos gripepd the rusted handles and pulled the door open to be welcomed by a lightning strike severla feet way which knocked the iron mailbox clean off it's post.
Doopliss trudged outside wearinga furry cloak that was marginally too small for him. He pushed aside the soaked iron gate with the greeting of several falling pieces of rusted metal. He slowly trudged into the swampy lands of the forest and became lost in dying trees.
Several hours later. His shadowy figuire emerged into the bright, flashing town of Twilight Town. A lot had changed sicne his last visit. He sat down on a barrel next to a tree heavy with crows perched on the branches.
The claws of the birds clutched so tightly that every now and then a sharp snap and a piece of bark falling off occured. Doopliss was totally unaware of the birds above him, too tired from heading through the seemingly larger forest.
Doopliss rose to his feet slowly retreiving his fallen hat than lay on a ile of hay behind the barrel he was lying on. He trudged into the large stone bar. He was greeted by the scent of chuckola cola and decided to swiftly sit down and take off his hat next to a pair of dark boos who greeted him with high fives as he sat down on the leathery becnh beside the larger circular wooden table.
The boos were excited to see the entrance of their friend Doopliss. They swarmed around to his side of the creaky bench and started asking him how he was. He answered them with an automatic sentence of "Yeah, I'm alright.", although, he barely was alright. They cheered as the boo hoisting the drinks materialised next to them hoisting thick mugs of strong smelling chuckola cola. The recivers cheered as the heavy mug slammed onto the oak table however, doopliss simply smiled appreciatively although very hard to do so in his current sate of exhaustion.
The boos swigged down from the heavy mugs and slammed them hard onto the table making the cotnents threaten to spil out of the container. Doopliss was beckoned to do the same and hastily hoisted the glass to his mouth and chugged down te delicious drink until it was almost empty and copied their movement of slamming it upon the battered desk. The boos cheered at his accomplishment and started chatting to one and other randomly involving the slightly intoxicated Doopliss who was now in a state of explosive and uncontrollable mirth as were his friends.
They babbled on about nonsense and sang heartily about chuckola cola before being joined by other people on different tables. Everyone was in hysterical and enjoyful uproar laughing and singing heartily as they swung their drinks up high into the air with screams of joy. Even the staff were joining in on it.
After several drinks and laughter beyond Doopliss' wildest imagination. Doopliss swayed side to side hanging onto his drunken friends for support and stepped into the inn. The rather blushed looknig Dark Boo brandished several inn tickets and almost fell over. The innkeeper happily collected them and they spent the night sleeping loudly and contently ready to face another day of hilarity and fun. Doopliss had found entertainment at last.
In the morning he noticed several notes sitting printed hastily in blue ink upon the desk by the fire accompanied by a peachy peach fruit. Looking at them he read them all one by one with the same ruffling noise of old parchment as hedid so. They had numbers printed on them, below the pile lay a neater written note detailing, "Call us if you want, we are free on market day, work holiday to meet in the bar. So, if you need something to do, just wait 'til wednesday night. Ok, my friend? Your sincerely Darkla the Dark Boo.".

Yeah, I like writing short and happy fan fictions. In fact, it's a mix of a childrens book and a dictionary. |
