Baby Peach and Rosalina...that's kinda just bias. It wasn't filler to make a totally new model (Baby Peach) or the Luma detail (Rosalina). Also, Funky is extremely well-animated when compared to DK, as is Dry Bowser to Bowser.
Therefore, the only REAL filler was Baby Daisy, who is too cute. @.@ |

Funky is awesome.
R.O.B.'s participation in MKDS was a cameo in his honor (if you don't know, R.O.B. played a big role in Shelving the NES in stores). In fact, everywhere you see R.O.B., it's an homage to him.
Also, some filler characters were promotional, like Rosalina and Dry Bowser. Some others were utterly filler *pointing at Baby Daisy*. |

I know. And by filler I mean Unnecessary. Funky is in NO way necessary over Dixie, and Baby Princesses and Rosalina aren't necessary, either. |

Funky appeared in all mainstream Donkey Kong games after DKC. He was playable in Donkey Konga 3. There were already tons of lightweight characters to choose from. Take your pick at the excuse.
And Funky IS necessary over Dixie to me! King K. Rool is debatable, though. |

Heres what I think
Rosalina- Promotes Galaxy
Funky- Promotes more Donkey Kong/His playability in Donkey Konga 3 or Barrel Blast
Dry Bowser- Promotes New Super Mario Bros.
Baby Peach- Promotes Yoshi Island/Make her shine more.
Baby Daisy- Add a new character to the series.
Personally, I love the Baby Princesses :3
And I think its cool to have more characters. |
