Do you think dodging a POW Block is n00bish/cheating? I mean I see people in WiFi do it all the time and they're like a half-lap ahead of all the other people.
Now I don't do it on WiFi. But on Grand Prix I do it all the time to ensure that I get star ranks.
Personally I think it's cheating on WiFi but it's fine when playing agaist CPUs. What's your opinion?

If you answered "yes" to any of these, I'm really sorry that you're so blinded. It's a freakin' technique for dodging an item, just like dropping a shell behind you to destroy a Red Shell. It's not always going to be an option, but it's nice when it is.

How is this done exactly? I know you can significantly reduce the impact by doing wheelies (which is severely cheap as it gives an advantage over Kart users), but I don't know any way of doing it with manual drift as Glitz Yoshi seems to be saying.

I think it's just fine. I've learned that if you wheelie at the EXACT MOMENT the POW Block activates, nothing happens to you!
The problem is in the timing.

I don't think you can do it with a hop. It tend to naturally do a hop when I use Manual drift because it seems to be a logical thing to do, but it never worked.

However, if you just used a jump right before the POW block hit, and you're still in the air, you aren't hit by it, because the POW Block is a earthquake type of item.

I feel that when one dodges a POW block, it is a new skill that they have learned. Anyone can practice trying to dodge the POW block, and soon you too can master it. I feel that it is not cheating to dodge a POW block because it is a skill that can be mastered.

I've tried several times to dodge a POW block, but it's really difficult to get the timing down to the last milisecond. When I generally try to dodge it, I usually get caught in the earthquak, but with less spinning. I am then able to go on, faster than I would have it I had gotten hit, regularly.
