There are many presidents that I admire of their courage and their ability to do things, but one man stands out to me the most. He helped the country during the Great Depression, and helped lead through World War II. This man, who was elected for four terms, is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
In Roosevelt's first hundred days, he was able to pass more laws than any single president had passed in one term. He was a great orator, and was able to get laws passed through Congress quickly. He cared about the poor of the society more than the rich. He was the first president, to sit down with an African America, and try to end the segregation of African Americans.
Roosevelt cared about all people, and was willing to help them in many ways. These included the several agencies he created to help the poor: helping people make mortgage payments better, helping farmers to earn money to grow less crops (to help reduce overproduction), creating many agencies to create several thousands of jobs (small scale and large scale projects were for many different ages of the society).
In World War II, Roosevelt led the ways with the plans for D-Day, and the invasion of the Pacific. He had brilliant strategies, that helped in the outcome of the War, and it was sad that he passed away, before he could see the Japanese surrender. That was the main reason he ran for a fourth term, so that he could see his plan succeed as a president. Franklin D. Roosevelt is my favorite president because of all the things he did for the country, while during the Great Depression and his great leadership in World War II. |

Teddy Roosevelt
And don't worry. She's only posting Bush to get attention. She doesn't think of him as her 2nd favorite in any terms other than trying to be funny. |
