Have you ever done this? For example, I have Hyrule Castle, Kongo Jungle, Yoshi's Island, and Saffron City remakes from the Stage Builder. I'll play Brawls with ONLY all of the items on that were in Smash 64, brawl on one of the 64 remake stages, and have the only fighters be characters that were in the original roster of 12.

For Melee, of course, I'll only have characters that were in Melee fight, only on stages that were in Melee (if I play Final Destination I have the Melee FD theme set to it), and with all of the Melee items on.

Of course it can't come close to truly being the same, but I still have fun with it. I like doing the 64-style fights. Mario vs. Pikachu on 'Saffron City' with 64 items on... It feels good in its own way. o.o

I like to do series related brawls. Like Mario, Luigi, Bowser and Peach on a Mario stage with only Mario items and the Smash Ball. Or Pokemon with Pokeballs and a SB. etc.
