So. The main idea of Yami no Matsuei is that a pair of Shinigami act as detectives and police for unusual murders that occur across Japan. It revolves around Tsuzuki Asato, the candy-loving slacker-ish sweetheart; his case partner, Hisoka Kurosaki, a psychically empathetic but rather stoic teenager; and the main villain, Muraki Kazukata, a mad scientist/serial killer/rapist.

I won't say the series is mindblowingly epic or anything, but it's very nice and a good show to add to your anime repetoire just for the sake of things like Tsuzuki's love for Cinnabons or the mixture of vampires and cruise ships. Kind of like the Mario spinoff games, it's not core to your life storyline, though it's still pleasant and fun.
