Various statstics are now available for some games on the Nintendo Channel. I am really glad they added this, I was afraid they would keep all this info to themselves. So basically they show things like play time and "hardcore percentage" collected from everyone who has agreed to send such information to them. To keep this post short, I will reply after this post with a big list of stats I compiled.
Hopefully they add user-ratings soon too. Although I bet some game publishers wouldn't like that.

If that gets a 74%, what the hell does OoT get? A 115%? TP would be considered FAR too easy for practically any hardcore gamer, even with 3 hearts. |

Well the percentage is how many people chose the game to be more for "hardcore" rather than "casual". I would say that Brawl could be considered "casual" to some as it is easy to pick-up and play.
What I dont understand is this:
Super Mario 64: 41%
Super Mario World: 35%
Super Mario Bros.: 31%
SMB is way harder than SMW, and SM64 is probably the easiest of them all. I guess people confuse "simplicity" with "casual". |

How is it not?
The Super Smash Bros. series is one of the most casual in existence. It's not casual on the level of, say, Wii Fit, but it certainly does have the mass appeal of games like Mario and Halo.  |

I wonder what percentage POkemon games are at? I say it will be around 40%, because it might be a pick-up-and-play, but there are some hardcore pokemon players out there. |
