Most of the Brawl newcomers have ^B moves that don't even do damage. They're only for recovery.

I don't think any of the Melee characters (Since that also includes the SSB64 chars) had any ^B moves that didn't have any purpose other than recovery. Yet, look at Brawl... Pit and R.O.B, to name a few. Then we have the ^Bs that CAN damage, but have an extremely low chance of even doing anything, like Olimar's. (I've hit somebody once with it, after practicing with him for about 2 hours)

I was under the impression that the intended use of the ^B was damage, with recovery as a potential use for it. Yet, in Brawl, we have those moves that do no damage and are only for recovery. Just one of those things that was on my mind.

Bleh.

Pit pushes opponents away when he uses his Up B.

You can always just stop the jets for a sec to attack with R.O.B.'s Up B

The Pikmin Chain can go through platforms.

And ZSS... Neutral

But Olimar's IS a good move to use once you CAN use it.

But we have Godly ones like Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Ike. Don't forget Charizard and Wario's up B can KO.
Even if Pit and ROB's up B does no damage, they have God-like recoveries. Even if they get knocked REALLY far, they can still make it back to the stage.

Another good thing about Olimar's Pikmin Chain is that if someone is holding onto the ledge to keep you from recovering,it knocks them off and grabs the ledge. ^_^

No it doesn't. I just tested. It knocks them off, but doesn't grab the edge.

Somehow, I find Pit's ^B maneuver more cheap than R.O.B.'s. Lucario's ^B move should've caused damage, and Ivysaurs is just Epic. [Vine WHIP, W00T]
