Ohshit this won't end well.
If you would've asked me this 2 years ago I would've said Sonic. I loved Mario, but I liked Sonic more. I do not in any way hate Sonic, I still have a small obsession with Sonic and Shadow. Mario by far has better games, Sega seems to have lost that old Sonic that was so awesome... |

Sonic, as a character, is a bit deeper than Mario, because he talks, but Mario's more recent games have been more than just pleasing, and Sonic's have been pretty bad. If Sega would just go back and make a good old Sonic game with the basic "Eggman wants the world for himself. DESTROY HIM" plot, I could be persuaded. |

Personality? Mario's is generic, but then again, Sonic's personality is the Asshole Teenager Stereotype, which is no better in term of epic.
In term of game? ... do I really have to say it?
