Both of these titles will be budget-priced in Japan on December 3rd, 2009. No word on a similar price drop in the states.

This was spotted by reader FrostDemn while traveling on the San Francisco subway system. I guess Capcom wanted to make sure they didn’t get in trouble for their M-rated game advertisement!

Petz Fashion: Dogz and Catz…one of the many, many entries in the Petz lineup from Ubisoft. I’m sure that many of you have noticed the boxart before, but that will have been your only interaction with the game. The same goes for me, as I have no intentions of picking the game up. [...]

As you can see above, the OFLC has a listing for True Swing Golf on DSiWare, just with its European name. Looks like Nintendo has plans on making paid demos of all their games. Can’t say I’m too happy about that one.

As we approach the colder months of the year here at Joystiq HQ, we like to fool ourselves by picking up the latest Wiinovations in the world of game-based exercise equipment, knowing wholeheartedly that they'll never end up getting much use. This year, however, we figured we would extend that same ideological principle to you. We hope that your moral certitude will employ Wii Fit Plus and Active Life Extreme Challenge (it's totally extreme) more than we would! We'll be picking a winner for this enticing exercise pack at random from the folks who comment below -- all you have to do is tell us your favorite exercise fad of all time. Get those finger muscles moving! Leave a comment telling us your favorite exercise fad of all time. Looks like this deal isn't just for Xbox 360 owners. Activision has slashed the price of the World at War map packs. As Richard noted, "it's just a cash grab before Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 makes everyone forget World at War, but hey, it's hard to argue with cheap."In addition to this sale, all World at War servers will feature double XP. If you want to partake in giving Activision even more money, you better hurry up: this deal ends on November 1st.

Playlogic Entertainment's Fairytale Fights may have just been released today in North America, but the game's developer is wasting no time at all in kinda, sorta announcing the first downloadable content. We say "kinda, sorta" because the promised four "new playable characters" and three "new PvP arenas" aren't detailed whatsoever in the press release. Instead, Playlogic opted to announce the DLC with the promise that those who sign up on the Fairytale Fights website will receive a code giving them free access to the digitally-distributed content. The various content is alleged to be "valued at over $15," so it would serve you wisely to snag your free code if you have any interest whatsoever in picking up a copy of the game. Hell, even if you're renting, free is free, right? And hey, at least "part of" the DLC will be exclusive to those who register online. Seems like a no-brainer to us.

Remember the first time you donned the cape in Super Mario World? Controlling it wasn’t as easy as you expected, was it?! The development team at Bigbig Studios -- who are ironically comprised of employees under 5 feet tall on average* -- will face off against Motorstorm: Arctic Edge players tomorrow in an evening multiplayer event. According to the PlayStation UK Blog, the event will take place on European servers from 17:30 GMT (1:30PM EDT) to 19:00 GMT (3:00PM EDT). Along with (probably) destroying the community at the PSP racer they made, the developers will offer a live Twitter commentary to the Europe-only event. That's right. Bigbig Studios is so confident they will destroy the opposition they will be tweeting as they race. That, kids, is called confidence. *This information is probably not accurate.

This week, the Virtual Console receives two new titles: Golden Axe on the VC Arcade and Zombies Ate My Neighbors on the SNES. Both are great times for co-op enthusiasts and, really, just great times. Zombies Ate My Neighbors (SNES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) Golden Axe (Arcade, 1-2 players, 900 Wii Points)

While the rest of the world will be shooting zombies next month, Japanese gamers are forced to wait until early next year for Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles to be released. But it isn't all bad news for our Far East brothers and sisters: Japanese gamers will have the opportunity to purchase a special collector's edition of the game. According to Siliconera, the collector's edition includes a soundtrack CD labeled Darkside Symphony, a promotional DVD, a (sweet, we guess) reversible cover and the game for 8,390¥ ($91 USD). Also, in the seemingly never-ending world of preorder bonuses, Japanese gamers willing to throw a deposit down for the game will nab a detailed character booklet called the Darkside Report. No zombie shirt? We win.

Click to see even larger rats. Konami shocked us by announcing a complete reboot of Frogger, reimagined by American McGee as a dark, twisted platformer about a frog on a quest for revenge. Wait, they didn't do that. Instead, they announced Frogger Returns, a by-the-numbers follow-up to the arcade classic that has you taking the titular mascot from one side of the screen to the other. This modern take on the franchise adds a few power-ups (like the ability to reverse and stop time) and invincibility. Whoa, who knew frogs could do all that? Frogger Returns promises to be "12 times the size of the original" and will also offer "local multiplayer," according to the official press release. No details on price were revealed, but Konami's aiming for a release on both WiiWare and PlayStation Network later this fall.
