I just got back from my grandparents' cabin at Horne Lake. I probably would have avoided going if it weren't for the fact that Dad told me that the kid I like would be there. Of course, he was lying, so, I decided that I'd go just to do my job and get my 40 dollars.
My grandparents have this lighthouse in their front yard, near their garden, right? Well, they told me that they needed it repainted. No problem, considering the thing is only about 5' 9" tall. So, we drive down there, and, I see that the lighthouse is not only in grave need of a paint job, but it's also literally tearing at the seams. Still no big deal, right? Well, my dad was there. Dad the perfectionist. Please note that I'M calling him a perfectionist, and everyone calls me a "huge perfectionist".
So, I begin scraping the paint off the lighthouse, then begin putting on the first coat of paint, after taping off the red areas. Dad came by and decided to "help" around the second coat. Of course, it took longer because it had to be PERFECT. Hell, he wouldn't even let my caulk the damn thing. Once we get to the red part, Dad has a fit because Grandpa and Grandma had NO proper supplies. So, that made it take longer. It wasn't a hard job, but Dad sure made it tedious.
Then I went out on the dock and painted a table.
The rest of the weekend was spent running around doing errands for my dad, uncles and grandpa. Other than that... um... paddle-boating, speedboating... playing guitar... Oh, and, I got to drive my grandpa's golf kart. lol, he has a golf kart. It's kinda creepy to drive, because it wobbles like crazy... then again, we're on gravel roads. He has this horn on it... it plays music and stuff, right? It has Pac-Man and ice-cream truck music. lol
Now... I'm... here? |
