I pick guitar hero 4. It's keeping it's same difficulty level. And new difficulty level. Beginer. Create your own guitar and song. Plus the drums are better. 5 things 3 drums 2 cymbals. not 4. People say,The new one has 4 drums and 3 symbals, but it's all still the same colors. One cymbal does the same as another drum. it still is cool, but it costs 300 dollars for it. Guitar hero 4 is harder too.

Um...the Cymbals count as one input, Rockband already let you design a guitar to some extent, and 2 will have a music creator too.

Have fun whining about not being able to beat a song while I have fun with my easier but fun Rock Band 2.

Popple: Rock Band 2 doesn't have a song creator. It does however have a setlist creator.

Guitar Hero 4:

Not compatable with GHIII or GHII downloaded songs.
Song Creator isn't as good as it should be.
Claims it invented the "band" idea.

Rock Band 2:

Can use every downloaded song from RB1, which we have about 40 of already.(This means you'll be able to have over 200 great songs right out of the box)
Much better customization.
Doesn't add a button to the drums that forces you to buy a new kit. The new drums you CAN get are 100% optional.
Doesn't drown out the singing with overpumped guitar volume.
Some of the rumored songs are by none other than The Beatles.(Again, rumors at this point)

I say neither. Both of the series are getting boring.

I think the peripheral lock-in of these full-band games (dont work with competition, expensive, and take up lots of space) make it so that you really have to pick one and stick to it in the future.

If you have Rock Band 1, then the obvious choice is Rock Band 2.
If you have Guitar Hero III, then the obvious choice is Guitar Hero World Tour.
If you do not have Rock Band OR Guitar Hero, then I would say go with Guitar Hero World Tour, due to the more advanced instruments and extended feature set.
But, it could also come down to which one has your favorite songs.

If you only have a Wii, the obvious choice is Guitar Hero, no matter what.

And btw, SOLO MODE? wtf. another reason I don't like RB cause you can't play a solo.
