A few things;
First, his head is really small, and his neck is really long.
Second, he's holding his fiddle wrong. Look at a photo of someone playing a fiddle, then look at your drawing; it's possible to hold it that way, but not comfortable.
Third, (this is just an opinion, mind you) it would look better if he was actually leaning against the tree, rather than standing next to it looking all rigid and stiff.
Now, on to the positive things;
I really, really like the rocks on the ground. The one below and to the left of Death, especially. That white highlight really gives it a definitive shape.
Good choice of media. Black and white pencils on coloured paper always looks really nice. |

Were I such a connoisseur as CFWF, I would have noticed errors, but at the moment the only thing I have is my self-degracing ego waving a file card saying "I couldn't do this but wish I could."
But, I miss the scythe. Death has a scythe.

The same way I made my avatar. Charcoal and chalk.
As for the comment about the positioning of the violin, I know it's wrong. Like you said, it's would be VERY uncomfortable to play it in that position. I did it that way because, well, death isn't comfortable, if you understand. Not the being, but the experience.
At least, I believe it to be not comfortable. |
