Where the hell did you get that 1/3 figure? Not a lot of people on here know how to program, let alone HTML. Flawed logic never works.

As well, allowing XHTML allows more abuse potential, really. It's enough if another 12/30 happened, but if we had XHTML to help it? That would be bad, not only for the mods, but for a lot of us.

AND 2/3 REALY wouldent care.

POINT: 1/3 is a large portion of the site and if we can make theri experiance better, than it should be done.

ALSO: I'm self educated and don't consider myself an expert, but that isen't required for basic markup! (HTML AND CSS!)

If 2/3 of the site really don't care, then it's really not worth it you realize. Besides, coding HTML is way more shit than I care to do. We have post templates in which we may put [color="colorname"][/color] that will appear on our posts.
And it has just been drawn to my attention that less than 1/3 of us know how to program.

Another problem with your logic. The site has roughly one thousand members. That means 1/3 is about 333.

This is far larger than the active community, and even if you did mean the active community, that means about 25 people amongst us all know how to program.

The only ones I know that can are myself, Lord Bob, Magmma, Cid, and Bananatank. The 2nd and 3rd are in Web Authoring, if I am correct, and the other three are mostly not HTML guys. And if there are any others, I am sorry to have left you out. And Francis.

Edit: No, those who program should know C++ or Java, at the very least. Or at least be able to grasp the concepts behind such logic.

Not worth it. At all.

So we get a few extra tags that alter text and stuff. We've got enough. Can't you get by with the stuff we have here? We've got plenty of tags for most purposes. You should be able to talk fine on Digibutter without your tags of sorts. Not only that, but even when you think of how many people who can use such a language, you also need to think how often it will be used. 1/30th of the population? Then factor in how many of those posts made by each of those people will be made. People don't even need to use the standard tags often, let alone advanced ones with little function. It would be never used.

Also, don't forget that Francis has disabled HTML for a reason. You're most likely not going to get through him when he barely takes suggestions the majority of Digibutter agrees on. You're also the only person who has agreed on the suggestion. Francis isn't going to do it for one person only; it's got to have support, which you aren't getting.
