Damnit...Maybe I just like you guys too much or something, I don't know. I just feel like I have to post this.
I have never had one friend on the internet that wasn't in some seat of power on the site in question. My best friends on the net that I still hang out with from time to time were all moderators on the first community I ever joined. Another friend of mine was the head of a guild I joined in Neopets (Shut up I was 10.) The person I believe I had the greatest connection with was a moderator on EXEHQ as well. I just can't seem to make friends as easily as the rest of the members on any site I have ever been on outside of the staff. Am I simply too ambitious? I'm I socially awkward? I just don't understand. Is there something I'm missing? Perhaps I just don't belong with people? I just feel so pathetic. I can't seem to fit in anywhere I go on the internet. Maybe that's why I've been trying to leave Digibutter so much, but I can't. As much as I don't belong here, I have no where else to go too. My old home is all but destroyed, not even Nsider is around for me to cling to while I search for a new site. Maybe I should just give up, shove my face in a manga book and give up this internet thing for good. I just feel so unwanted. |

Popple... D: I see you as a friend to me. Really, I think I've never actually disagreed with you. You're not a bad person.....
....or am I not just a normal member, because I'm a moderator at a forum and an oekaki, and I own a site? Really, you should value the friends you have, whether they have power on the internet or not. Just because you don't have any friends that aren't like that doesn't mean that you should stop going on the internet. :C

The reason why you might want to leave badly is because people hate you for doing your job and getting flamed a lot. Remember you are a mod, you have powers that others don't. If they flame you, it is their fault, not yours. Deep down they might know you are right but they might not want to admit the fact. What you are doing for Digibutter is the right thing, not the mean thing or wrong thing. Also the people that flames you are technically breaking the rules.
I respect you because personally you are the best mod because you have done most of the mod works. (no offense for other mods).
You may feel that you are unwanted simply because of these reasons. But actually you are doing something for this community. Think about it, without you what will Digibutter be like?
Consider that question first.
And remember, I am trying to help you because I respect you and I am your friend, not just to cheer you up.
Also...I don't want you to leave... |

It's not just that, I just can't seem to connect with anyone on the internet. I mean I've had a few chats with O'Chunks, but as much as I would like to I don't know if I could call him a friend. I just don't think I have the social skills needed to interact with people on a personal level. And being a mod only adds salt to the wounds. I end even more disconnected then I was before. It's almost like I'm so weird that there is no one that I can relate too. |

It's not the mods. It's the people.
People associate power with tyranny, and tyranny with being an overall asshole. When people see someone in an act of power that they don't like, boom. You're now the biggest asshole on the block. Popple is, without a doubt, the very best on our moderation staff. He's like Simon Cowell. He dishes out golden truth but all anyone ever sees is a steaming pile of crap. If people can just learn to interact constructively with him instead of insulting him 24/7, he wouldn't feel so bad. |
