Okay, my son's in urgent need of help again. We need to finish the project SOON, since it's due tomorrow.
All he needs to know is the reason that darker liquids are worse at conducting heat than lighter liquids. |

I think it's because darker liquids have less energy, and the less energy you have, the worse a cunductor you are? ' srsly I dunno. |

Yes, perhaps the light being reflected by the lighter liquid allows the heating source to turn it into thermal energy. That's my best guess. |

I think your son messed up. The darker it is, the better it absorbs heat. Lighter liquid would absorb even less.
The reason is heat is attracted to dark objects. |

It's late, M'aiq knows, but he tried to make the best sense out of the situation Lord Bowser gave us as he could. The accuracy of the following is questionable, as M'aiq does not know much on the subjects of light energy and heat absorbtion.
THIS IS ALL SPECULATION!

Here's my guess:
Darker colours denote a higher absorption rate of energy, such as heat. Assuming that you didn't mix up the two like Detective Gumshoe suggested, this would most likely mean that the energy is completely absorbed, and thus darker colours do not allow the movement of the energy.
In this case, lighter colours reject the energy and don't absorb it. The energy moves on.
I dunno.

I thought it was the opposite...
Dark objects absorb heat quicker than bright or shiny objects. Dark objects also radiate heat quicker and so will lose heat quicker as well.
For example: If you wear dark clothes on a cold day, your body heat will be 'conducted' or absorbed through the material quicker and then radiated away from you, making you feel colder quicker than if you were wearing white (or silver >_>) clothes.
Uh, sorry that this has contradicted what you your son has said but that's what I have been taught |

No. A black car will get hotter inside then a white one. Ben frank did a test with cloth on slow. |

Yes, dark absorbs it. But light colors reflect it. That's why they appear, well, light. |

I was talking about heat, not light. Although it does work with light as well >_< (I never should have replied in this topic >_>) |
