I just beat Chaos;Child, and it’s the new peakest story I’ve every experienced. I knew it was good, but I didn’t realize just how good it was until the end. I’ll shill this series until I die. On a scale from kino to peak, it’s full-on awesomesauce. It’s just that good. It builds upon the world of Chaos;Head NoAH and presents itself similarly in the sense that a thematic sequel should, yet it also acts as an antithesis to C;H in the sense that it intentionally introduces many similar looking characters and scenarios that act or play out in almost the exact opposite way that they would have in C;H.
Interestingly, some aspects of the plot actually reminded me of SPM. I noticed three shared archetypes between the two (spoiler alert if you’d ever read C;C):
-
The “main” antagonist ends up actually being pretty insignificant in the end (Count Bleck/Dimentio dynamic).
-
A supporting character is brainwashed for evil (Mr. L).
-
An antagonist commits crimes against humanity out of love and for their purpose of living (Count Bleck/Timpani relationship).
Plus, the soundtrack is amazing too. C;C’s Silent Wind Bell is like SPM’s Proof of Existence. Thanks for reading my rant and feeding my leaderboard points!
