The International Olympic Committee has chosen to no longer renew Nintendo and SEGA’s licensing rights. The IOC is looking to move forward in a new direction, instead considering licensing NFTs and mobile games…
Though it was never a huge franchise, I own M&S: Summer 2012, Winter 2014, and Summer 2020 and always thought they were some pretty fun party games.

you’re telling me they rejected two of gaming’s largest mascots in lieu of NFTs
Forsaking Mario and Sonic in pursue of a castle built upon sand? Can’t say it’s a good idea
They could make the games without the Olympic name and it wouldn’t make much difference, and even free up to get a little crazy with it.
I kinda want a retro Olympics game. I have fond memories of NES Track & Field and SNES Winter Olympics '94.

2010 Winter Olympics M&S was goated. Gonna miss the series.
The fact they ditched it in favour of the dead fad of NFTs tho
2024 Olympics serving up L after L lmao

Oooh yeah, I think at this point the olympics theme has maybe started to get a little stale anyways. Why not do Mario and Sonic with other themes? Could probably get some crazy stuff out of it, just pop em into whatever event you like and see what happens. Perfect opportunity to come up with all-new minigames or even take the series in a different direction.
