What Games y'all Playing this Summer?

Often when there’s some shift in my life, I like to start new playthroughs of games. And since it’s Summer quarter now, and I’m only taking a single class this term, I’m trying to plan out a bit on what games I wanna play over the Summer lol.

Right now I’ve been playing through Pokemon Sword a lot. I get that the game has a lot of issues, but finally nearing the end, I gotta say, I REALLY enjoyed this one. I love the Galar region.

Aside from that, playing this goofy lil indie meta horror game called KinitoPet. That’s been a real neat one. Emulating older PC styles, diving into the files, all that jazz.

Might plan on replaying Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga in preparation for Brothership. Also finish up my playthrough of the TTYD remake (what a great remake btw WOW).

Oh also the Metroid Prime trilogy so I can prep for Prime 4.

But yeah that’s just a few of them. Might play some classic Sonic at some point, who knows. How bout y’all? What have y’all been playing recently/plan on playing?

Almost done with PM64 then I’ll move on to TTYD or instead of starting something new I should complete some half-finished games like Metroid Dread, Metroid Prime 3, Kid Icarus Uprising, Owlboy, …

Oh boy, I’ve got a list…

  • [Just finished] up Super Mario RPG.
  • [About halfway through] Robotics;Notes since I love the Science Adventure series and have been slowly chipping away at it for the past few years.
  • [Planning on playing] PM64, then the TTYD remake, then might come back to Metroid Dread like Francis.
  • [Still play] Sea of Thieves from time to time, though it’s mostly just to mess around with seasonal new content. Feels more like a chore for me to play now like how I feel about Phantasy Star Online 2 (and now PSO2: New Genesis). Still play Deep Rock Galactic and Lethal Co. sometimes too.
  • [Trying to get better at] Tekken 8, though local multiplayer is more fun than playing online.
  • [Have been told that I should play] Persona 5, Omori, A Hat in Time, and 428 Shibuya Scramble
  • [Steam Backlog]: Half Life: Alyx, the Myst remake, Bug Fables, Kero Blaster, Chrono Trigger, OneShot, Resident Evil, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Stray, West of Loathing, Yakuza 0, rest of the SciADV series.
  • [Could finish] the Ace Attorney series, Ori and the Blind Forest, Pokémon Sword
  • [Should finish] M&L: SS. Played through a little over half of it back when the 3DS remake came out, my save got corrupted, and haven’t gotten back to it yet.

Suggestions on the order in which to get through that welcome. Additional game suggestions probably not welcome…

still playing cave story!! albeit really slowly… whoopsie

Hey, welcome! Have you played the original Paper Mario or Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door? Those are great games as well.

There’s also a bit of post game content in SPM like the pits of 100 trials, going back for the Duel of 100 in Sammer’s Kingdom, buying Tiptron, and some hidden collectables in Flipside/Flopside if you’re into that.

Thanks, also I have played both, i managed to beat the original Paper Mario, but i only got to chapter 6 on PM:TTYD

Thanks for telling me about the post game stuff btw, i literally forgot about those or didn’t even know some existed

You’re welcome. I think the post game stuff is pretty fun. I’d definitely recommend going back and finishing TTYD. Coincidentally, I’m just about to start chapter 6 in the Switch remake, and it’s probably my favorite chapter. There’s still two more chapters and a good chunk of the game left after it.

I have played quite a few games this summer.

The first 3 Paper Mario games would start the list off, obviously.

I enjoy tuning out with Mario Kart: Tour and Super Animal Royale when I just need something to pass the time.

I love fighting games, so I got into Street Fighter 6 as a Cammy and E.Honda main.

I also picked up an RG Nano to play retro games like Minish Cap and Warioland 4. (Hi-Technicaaaaaaal)

Finally, me and my friend Redd play all sorts of zany co-op games like Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks and the newest Cult of the Lamb DLC.

i would have played super paper mario but turns out the copy i got yesterday was faulty

there’s a slight little chip of disc film or whatever its called (yk, the stuff with the label and the games name) missing if you look pretty close
gonna return it tomorrow

as for what i have been playing, i’m getting back to playing through assassins creed 3 (i had 30% completion but my stick started drifting and i had to stop playing for a while) shadow of the tomb raider and some other stuff on my ps5

most of my gaming is just messing around on roblox or occassionally doing some main quests and/or trophies in whatever is my main playthrough rn

really enjoying aciii in particular, great story and fun combat, sometimes i like to run through the city and just get like 60 people chasing me around lol.
the game gives you that sense of being an adventurer and the feeling of going through history and making it

My summer involved:

  • Planet Coaster
  • FNAF: Sister Location
  • Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator (except I haven’t been letting any Animatronics)
  • FNAF: Security Breach
  • WWE 2K24
  • Mario Party 8+9
  • Mario Kart Wii
  • Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (I’m a devious Dormammu main)

Boyfriend Dungeon! You date your living weapons used in roguelike dungeoneering. Right now the dagger and I are going steady.
