I can’t decide if this should be a poll because I’ve noticed those practically kill discussion, so I won’t, personally, with the 3ds/ gamecube still getting releases up til 3/4 years after the next system came out, I’d say 2028/29
if the switch 2 is using the same servers, they’ll probably continue to support it on switch 1 as well until the next console after switch 2
developers will keep loading shovelware [1] on the switch until then, so it’s just a matter of how long they support the switch eshop: my money’s on around 7-10 more years

Depends on the strategy for Switch 1 consoles. If Switch 1 becomes the budget alternative then that will keep it alive untill Switch 3 or whatever is next. If not, then I think it will still be the default platform until most of the existing hardware is dead. I don’t see why a simple game that doesn’t need the extra performance would ever exclusively target the Switch 2.
