One-man indie development studio Benjamin Rivers' side-scrolling pixel art horror game Home will be available for iOS devices this Thursday, June 20. The Universal App will cost $2.99 and feature new content, new terrifying environments to explore and updated story elements.

Rivers has also established a website to showcase the spooky real-world environments people play his game in - anyone who Tweets, Instagrams or Vines their eerie gaming location of choice using the hashtag #homehorror has a chance of making it into the collection.

Meanwhile, the OSX version of Home should be released sometime this summer, Rivers announced, adding that the improvements made for the iOS version of the game will be transferred to existing and future desktop versions at some point in the future.

Game Mechanics – A Day At The Races

Game Mechanics has created a new casino style game for your apartment or club. It is called A Day At The Races. Five jockey mounted ponies go around an oval track and you bet on which two are going to finish first and second (order does not matter). You get 300 coins when you purchase the machine and get an additional 20 coins every day you check in with the game. Your friends can come by and play it even if they don’t own it. The first time they play they get 20 coins and 5 per day after. Owners get a better deal because ownership has its privileges. There are 10 Rewards you and your friends can earn by completing achievements. You can bet up to 20 coins per race on any combination of horses and the odds go from 2 for 1 to 200 for 1. Another cool feature is that if you own the table and play at it, you can go to a friend’s apartment, play on theirs and all your stats and coins come with you. You can even start a streak on your machine and complete it on their machine, or even on a machine in a club. Coins are available in the store for those who run out. Up to 12 players can play on a machine at once and it uses 14 furniture slots.

Digital Leisure – Paradise Springs Poker Tournament

There are only a few days left to register for the Paradise Springs Poker Tournament this weekend! To register all you have to do is head to the Poker Room in The Casino and purchase a bracelet at the registration desk. Once you’ve got your bracelet be sure to come back on June 8th when the tournament starts. You can read up on how the tournament works, and when it starts in your region, by checking out the tournament rules right next to registration desk. You don’t want to miss your chance to rake in up to 250,000 in casino chips and to claim all the glory!

Game Mechanics – Elegant Dining Tables + Classic Clocks

Game Mechanics reaches back in their Elegant closet and pulls out some requested items and a couple innovative ones. First, they are releasing 8 and 12 seat versions of their Elegant Dining Table. This is the one that allows you to change the color and settings. The 8 seat version uses 6 slots and the 12 seat version uses 7 slots (if you think that is low, just wait). There is also a bundle available with all three tables. Next, they took one of their most popular items, the Outdoor Bar with Chairs and created Indoor and Outdoor Elegant versions of them. These go well in so many places and were a highly requested couple items. They use 3 slots each. And last, what may be the first one slot active items. That is right, these two Classic Clocks take up only one slot each. The one clock is normal sized and the Grand version is huge; reminiscent of their giant Tire Clock from way back. And the Grand version still only uses one slot.

Spring is here, and it’s time to experience the great outdoors in VEEMEE’s Acorn Meadows Park.

With wide open grassy spaces, rolling green hills, leafy hedges, oak trees and a beautiful lake, Acorn Meadows Park is the perfect place to relax, hang out with your friends and meet new people. You can exercise your dog, mess around on the lake with a friend in a pedal boat, or take a bicycle ride for two. Why not take a ride around the Park on the miniature steam train and tour the park in style. Feeling hungry or thirsty after your exercise? Buy a steaming cup of Joe from the coffee kiosk or a hot dog or ice cream cone. For the dog lovers amongst you, spend your time with your favourite VEEMEE dogs in the Dog Park or take them for a run around the Park. If you don’t have a dog yet don’t worry; you can choose from six new best friends in the Park store.

As a special welcome from VEEMEE, every player is given 200 Acorn Vouchers for free the first time they enter Acorn Meadows Park.

Use your Acorn Vouchers to enjoy the many activities available in the park. The more you do in The Park the more experience points you earn. Cash in your experience points to buy an ice cream, a coffee, or even a bike! Each time you level up you will be given even more free Acorns. There are loads of ways to earn experience points in Acorn Meadows Park. There are also lots of rewards up for grabs, with tasks and challenges galore. Can you find them all? There is a great new selection of clothing this week from Billabong. Not everyone can draw, but everybody doodles. Lock-a-doodle turns that doodling into a competitive social game. Choose a word and Doodle it for a friend to guess, or accept their challenge to guess something they’ve doodled. There’s also the option to broaden your horizons by playing with another Doodler chosen at random by Lock-a-doodle.

Obtain more words, colors and stickers to make your Doodles better, brighter and more varied. Doodle Packs can be purchased via the store or the Gift Machine.

Konami – Auras

Konami releases their latest batch of Locomotion Auras this week. Which of these auras represents you?

Pottermore, the official online, social universe for Harry Potter lore, is now a part of PlayStation Home. Pottermore in PS Home expands upon features in the browser version - including dueling, collecting trading cards and exploring Diagon Alley - and adds new activities, such as trivia, riding the Hogwarts Express, and a four-player mini-game called Book Herding.

Pottermore in Home can link with online Pottermore accounts via the Navigator App, allowing players to trade cards. PS3 players already got a taste of Pottermore in Wonderbook: Book of Spells, which we found to be a moderately thrilling experience, even for someone who isn't techically a "young adult" anymore.

Thirteen years after the first book was published, it was announced that J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series would be getting its own free interactive online experience built around the books.

Pottermore.com opened to all on April 14th, 2012, allowing fans across the world to delve deeper into the world of Harry Potter, illuminating the stories with a mix of evocative interactive artwork called ‘Moments’, a range of exciting mini-games and over 20,000 new words from the author herself.

As well as housing a dedicated social platform, Pottermore became the exclusive online retailer of the Harry Potter eBooks, which until then had never been available.

Over the last two years, we’ve been working closely with the Pottermore team to take that unique online experience one step further. Taking inspiration from the Pottermore universe, we have developed fully-realised 3D environments, packed full of mini-games and activities, allowing you to step inside Pottermore in ways never possible before now.

That’s right, Pottermore is coming to PlayStation Home.

The team here at the London Studio has been working tirelessly to bring a bit of magic into PlayStation Home, and we are so proud to finally reveal it to you.

In our first release, you’ll be entering the world of Harry Potter by taking a trip to Diagon Alley and boarding the Hogwarts Express. You’ll find a multitude of fun things to do:

Go head to head with two to four players in Book Herding. Round up a consignment of escaped magical books and return them to their cages before any of the other players. Be careful though, your opponents will be out to stop you, using spells and general craftiness to impede your progress and scatter your books at the most inopportune moments.

Around the Pottermore spaces on PlayStation Home, you may discover hidden collectible Pottermore Trading Cards. You might also gain cards by participating in mini-games. In order to trade these cards with people you will need to have an account on Pottermore.com, have progressed past Chapter Seven of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and have been sorted into one of the four Hogwarts houses (Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw). Link your account via our handy Navigator App, and you’re all set! Haggle for doubles and trade for the cards you’re missing at one of our dedicated trading tables. Be the first to complete your collection!

Kit yourself out in a range of Hogwarts house robes and accessories from Madam Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions or Twilfitt and Tatting’s in Diagon Alley. Pick up a friendly companion from the Magical Menagerie or, if it’s owls you love, visit Eeylops and choose your bird from their finest selection.

Approach the slightly dubious character at the end of the Hogwarts Express to gain access to an illicit Wizard’s Duel. Practise your moves and prepare to duel. Jump right in via Quickstart, or develop rivalries and pick your opponents via the Game Lobby.

Pack your Puffskein, board the Hogwarts Express and test your knowledge of the wizarding world with a Pottermore quiz for two to six players. The first to ten correct answers wins. If more than one player gets to ten correct answers at the same time, you’ll enter tiebreaker mode!

Benjamin Rivers' Home, first released on Steam, will be legitimately terrifying iOS and Mac users "hopefully before summer," the one-man studio told us during GDC. "If I could do this before the summer, that would be ideal, but that all depends on getting certified and making sure that all the bugs are worked out," Rivers said.

While Home's mobile port has never had an official release date, the original plan was for the game to come out much earlier this year. "The scope of getting this thing re-ported was a huge thing," Rivers said. "I use Game Maker, and they have a new suite of tools which lets you do iOS, Android, all that stuff. The unfortunate thing was that they came out with all that stuff after the game was released, so I've basically been spending the last six to seven months re-coding the whole game to match the new suite and to get everything up and running."

Rivers' work re-coding the game for iOS may have been time consuming, but it also may allow him to release an Android version of Home some time in the future. "Theoretically, it's easy to do Android because it's all running off the same code base," Rivers told us. "What I want to do is target the most popular phones and make sure that it's good. If things go weird and wonky, it's so easy to ruin that immersion, so I don't want it to be like 'Oh yeah, it'll totally work on your three year old HTC 2.1 device,' it can't do that."

As a result, Rivers anticipates that an Android version of Home would likely be optimized to run on a small selection of the most popular/common Android handsets, such as Samsung's Galaxy S line of devices.

The world’s most famous Time Lord is entering the virtual world. Starting March 27th, 2013, the BBC’s iconic Doctor Who brand will join PlayStation Home.

In Wave One, you’ll have the chance to step into the world of Doctor Who in a variety of ways starting with some of the series’ most iconic costumes. Fans can deck themselves out in the Eleventh Doctor’s classic tweed jacket and bowtie outfit and even accessorize with the legendary Sonic Screwdriver . There are also some options for prospective Companions too, starting with the River Song catsuit, complete with PDA accessory (but no peeking at the diary).

VEEMEE – No Man’s Land 1.1 Update + Billabong No Man’s Land 1.1 Update

A new gameplay map, situated in an abandoned Museum has now been made available today. VEEMEE’s No Man’s Land is a post-apocalyptic third-person shooter unlike any other game in the history of PlayStation Home. Race through urban wastelands where chaos and disorder are ever-present, dodging enemy fire and exacting revenge on roaming bands of death-addicted warriors in a world gone mad. Squads of up to four players each clash in two game modes – Team Deathmatch and Scavengers – in pulse-pounding multiplayer mayhem where only the savage survive.

Also, the War Lance, Halberd, and Weathercock Halberd have arrived. Participating in Operation: Defend Edo with one of these weapons you can do a lot of damage to ogres. Additionally, you’ll earn 1.35 times the usual Ogre Extermination Points towards your ranking!

Spin the hoop around and vigorously shake your hips. When you use the hoop, it will keep spinning around your waist. 5 variations are available, white, blue, green, yellow, and red.

Gothic Lolita

The chic Gothic Lolita fashion has arrived. Grown-up, chic, with elegant design, available in black and white. This 7-piece set includes a Lace Headdress (large and small), Chic Goth Loli Dress (with or without tights), Strapped High Heel Pumps (with or without tights), and a hairstyle. The ultra-rare Golden Drake has also been tamed and made available to the citizens of Avalon. The Golden Dragon comes as a bundle. It includes a sparkling and gorgeous Golden Dragon Companion, the Golden Dragon Rider active item, and a Golden Dragon Statue! The thing that makes the Golden Dragon so rare is it can use all 5 breath attacks when it is being ridden around your private spaces! Owning the Golden Dragon Bundle will allow you to ride a Golden Dragon in the Public Hexalon Village as well! Though that Golden dragon still only knows how to shoot fireballs.

Digital Leisure – New Casino Reward

Xi: Continuum

After 47 Days Xi: Continuum came to an end. For those of you who didn’t play along live you can now experience Xi at your own pace. As a single player experience you can go through the game as quickly as you like. This week also sees an update to Xi: Continuum that updates a number of things including the addition of two rewards. The first reward is available to all players who complete the introductory level. The second reward is available to those who continue with Xi: Continuum and reach Day 7. The rewards are both locomotion items and are available to new players as well as those who played Xi: Continuum live from the beginning.

Valentine’s Day Event

Love is in the air, and a lovely and romantic stir has taken over Pier Park. Everything from the full moon to several love-themed mini-games have landed, helping set the mood, including a kissing booth to open only on Valentine’s Day, February 14th. If you check back, there will be a quest popping into the Activity Board the day before Valentine’s with an additional reward to commemorate this year’s day of love.

Also, the Home Community Volunteers are planning their very own Valentine’s Day Flash Mob on February 13th. Be sure to check the Message of the Day in Home later this week for details.

BOOM Corp. – Galaxy Express 999 Line Expands

As the season changes, why not ponder your thoughts while taking in a moment of peace?

Granzella introduces the Street Dance gesture item. Enjoy using the Street Dance gesture item anywhere! By pressing the R1 button and selecting Street Dance, you can freely choose from 6 possible actions. Choose from Backflip, Frontflip, Head Spin, Scratch Spin, Backspin, and Crouching Roll. Also, when moving forward you’ll make a forward diving roll. There’s no doubt you’ll stand out. On the streets or at clubs you’ll grab the attention of those around and never get served again!

Granzella introduces the Magic Cloak, a new locomotion item. The Magic Cloak has arrived! Now you can float in the air as you move. Float like a cloud in the air, and feel the exhilaration of gliding like the wind. You can accelerate by pressing the Square button. The cloak is available in both red and purple. Float like the wind wearing this cloak and fly around the lounge!

All aboard! A Steam Locomotive that you can ride on top of has arrived! Jump on and ride the Small Steam Locomotive around! With puffs of steam and the sound of the engine the Steam Locomotive speeds along. Press the Square button to accelerate. The steam whistle will blow as you speed up. With this two-piece set you can also decorate your room, using it as furniture. In addition, the Railroad Worker Clothes Set is perfect for the steam locomotive. The set includes, tops and bottoms of the Railroad Worker Clothes, Railroad Worker Cap, Railroad Worker Gloves and Railroad Worker Gloves with Ticket Punch, Railroad Worker Shoes, and also the Station Master’s Clothes and Station Master’s Cap.

The wings of angels and demons have arrived as locomotion items! When you use the wings, you can fly about in the air. The new series is here! For both sets there are different types of wings and head items. Depending of the size of your hairstyle and your outfit, you can choose between these 3 types, near, medium, and far. In addition, these set includes items that are indispensable to angels and demons. The Small White Wing Set includes a toy bow and arrow and a halo that floats about the head. The Casino has added a new Overall Tier Reward. When players get up to Tier 5 in all of the games, they will receive a Gangster Outfit. People will know not to mess with you when you are sporting this hand tailored pinstripe suit and hat. Not to mention, youíll also be holding an authentic Tommy gun. Before you know it, youíll be running this town in no time!

Hold onto your sea horses because Digital Leisure is releasing their first update to their aquariums. A brand new fish pack will be available for you to add to your tank, or a friendís. The Quartet pack contains 4 fish and if you want to use all of these fish keep in mind that the minimum tank size to do so is medium.
