This is a serious topic. If you wish to say something stupid or other, go to OT or RPOT and do it. This is not the place.
I've sorta noticed this, and it's rather irritating. Most people in our current society think violence is fun and a laughing matter. How inhumane is that? I mean poor Joe from the apartment blocks could be bleeding his a** off, and what, you'd be laughing at him? Clearly, if you were in his spot, you'd be in tons of pain...Are humans as a whole becoming less empathetic and does this have anything to do with the SI {Stupidity Increase}? |

In the world there are people who are cursed with a life filled with misery and woe, some who have darkness in their hearts that make them want to harm others or even cause trouble no matter the consciences that may occur, and last there are the people who are kind to others. |

People obsessed with violence are seriously messed up.
While I draw very, very, violent comics, they aren't real people, and they die in completely impossible (and gory) ways. I can't even watch slightly gory movies without getting queasy, though. If someone gets their finger slowly cut off, or there are organs/limbs being ripped off... ugh... not my thing. |

I'm pretty much in the middle of African and Caucasian. Being in the middle, I can see the flaws in both groups. My experiences are not important, but to make it brief: I have never been bullied. Whenever I had a situation where someone picked on me, I always managed to win in the end. Race had nothing to do with it; I'm just an outcast. People fear me for my intellect, and I am very, very silent. I appear to walk alone, and therefore am vulnerable. How vulnerable? Well, here's an example: I transfered schools in 5th grade, and was new. Some school idiot/bully decided to "kill" me after school for not socializing and being weird (this person is white, and was the next year; 6th grade). As I carried my backpack down the hall, he slams his fist into the back of my head. As for me, I stood there. I just stood, and looked down at the ground as my books fell. He said, "Pussy. I knew you were just a little *crag*--" I turn around slowly. I said, "People like you do not deserve to live. Please, learn how to pick on someone of your caliber..." I grabbed him, tossed him onto a wall, and punched him in the face. I then used my knee to slam into his stomach, and in finality, used my forehead against his own, and he fell onto the ground. Tears ran down my face as I walked away, dying a bit inside every time I dare to hurt a soul. Someone walked up to me, noticing the blow to the head, asking if I was okay. I replied, "Oh, I'm alright. You should be asking him." It was a pretty uneventful day, and I received no gratification whatsoever. He was white, and I was mixed. He never spoke to me again.
Color doesn't matter. Attitude depends on the person, not their skin, culture, language, or gender. No, you are who you are. If you're an asshole, you're an asshole, regardless of your skin. If you're a lovely person, you're a lovely person, regardless of your skin. You could be white, green, purple, yellow, black, blue, red, whatever, and you would still be the same person. What we REALLY should be doing is weening out the worst of all of our races, rather than defining certain races to be certain types of people. That would be one of the many measures that would need to be taken to achieve world peace. Since there are so many, and that this is nearly impossible because of the number, world peace is unlikely. That's why it's just easier to worry about your own life, and make sure that you aren't racist, and that people are not racist to you, in your neighborhood, or in any part of your life. That does the world a great deed, indeed. |

I know. Violence is not funny at all. I actually think violence is a joke now because there are so much violent games that promote that violence is funny. |

I don't find it that awful. Having been bullied since preschool, and felt severely suicidal my whole life because of it, I place the things bullies say to people on moral par with trying to kill that person. Because... they might not realize it, or they might just not give a shit, but they are killing that person. That person might very well end their lives based on what the bully does to them. I feel that a bully definitely has that coming, and there are some people I truly wish I could do that to, but I'd get expelled. |

Hey you guys, I have the sad truth for you. No matter how much you hinder it, it's the nature of humans to belove violence. No matter how much you despise it with words that are nothing but words, no matter how unaware you are of it.
Our bloodlust is what led us to our post of nowadays. We built stuff to kill. Murder was the crux of survival back at those times -- there was no attention whore trying to hinder they wanted to kill. Because of the good old kill or get killed.
And there are many hangovers from that past.
So, guess what. The only reason why we all didn't just go on a sudden killing spree is that the laws hinder us and parents do their efforts so the bloodlust deep inside won't show up.
But in the end, we're all violent. No matter what, it's stuck with us. |

Of course violence is funny, what the *crag* is wrong with you people? Hiding behind your shroud of political correctness.
There is a fine line between suffering and circumstance.
If you don't understand what I just then please don't try to *crag* reply. |

I understand how you feel, Jolene, and I understand that you might not have been as fortunate as I was when I was your age, but bullies, despite what you might think... usually are truly nice people deep inside. They are only misled and frightened.
Young children who bully others mainly do this because they have a need to feel superior, and the main reason they want this feeling of superiority is usually because their parents abuse them or because they don't do well in school. These people have little confidence in themselves and make others suffer to make up for the suffering they are feeling inside. They truly are the ones who are scared, and the ones who must push around smaller beings to feel powerful.
Most bullies do not understand the true harm they are causing to their victim, but if all of us were taught to be optimistic and learn to forgive these people, even without being asked to do, then perhaps we could all get along. Violence is never the solution, even if the person deserves it, because an eye for an eye causes the world to be blind. We should simply just try to... become friends with people who bother us, not just so they can stop being irritating, but because they are human beings just like us who would save a person's life if they were hanging helplessly on the edge of a cliff.
Killing a person and bullying them are not on par with each other, no matter how much damage bullying may cause to the victim. Killing someone is concrete evidence of a horrible person, while simply pushing someone around or verbally attacking them doesn't equate to direct villainy.
As Doctor Martin Luther King Junior told us all, violence is not the key to happieness even if the person might appear to deserve it. We all should stand strong and tall, just like the Little Rock Nine did when they were refused food in their college. They sat still, quiet, and did not fight back when the misled and confused caucasians beat and harassed them. After several months of their nobel act, the Little Rock Nine were finally given food, and there brave will to not fight helped contribute to non-segregated schools and true freedom of African Americans in the United States country.
I used to feel suicidal certain times when I was younger, but I would fight those terrible feelings by believing that despite what may happen, and no matter how much evil there may seem to be on Earth, everything will always turn out alright. |

Meh...theres a lot of people who assume violence is the answer but really it's not. I've had plenty of times where I've asked people what to do and most of the people always replied, "beat him up" even when I didn't feel the person needed it. Sadly, the world is slowly becoming a place where violence is the quickest most necessary means of handling a situation and its sickening when you think about it. But there not much we can do about except get stronger and fight back against it. |
