You're being way to *crag* serious about this. Digibutter has moved from a small family like site to a larger more mainstream one. It's the destiny of all sites that seek to expand, though I suppose Digibutter really did expand on it's on.
Also, when you get a group of teens together on the internet there is always drama, that's what *crag* happens. They can't control their emotions and they seek self satisfaction through any means possible so that they can validate their exsistance. You need to just learn to deal with shit like that when it's your demographic.
I have to agree here, talk about hitting the nail on the head.

That's what I said in this topic before anyone but Jr. Troopa posted in it.
Every forums grows up and leaves the past to change. And when that change comes along, only about 2,5% of the cases actually change for good.
And in most of the other 97,5% of cases, people start to whine about how better the forums has been before.
Forums are like human beings. From the bliss, they grow to maturity. And what we've got left to do? *crag* deal with it, like most people try to deal with maturity.
As I haven't been here for the last few months (I lost interest for awhile) I feel I should still get my word in.
I think what happened with Digibutter is it grew too fast, even if there aren't all that many total users. Although with the total numbers it is small compared to a lot of forums but overall I'd say it has a good size. However, there are improvements that can be made.
In my time of being a staff member on a forum with 39,000+ members, I've seen a lot of things happen. From members who act stupid to members who do act intelligent. And this is a forum for kids I am talking about. A forum based on Bionicle, so the age group is pretty much the same, if not even a bit younger.
Heck, the forum has even been attacked by hackers who posted very inappropriate images. Why? They wanted to get back at the staff for being 'dictators' and banning them. Why did they get banned? Well, they broke rules. Not once but many times, so further action was taken. And if member does get banned after one offense they did something that made banning them necessary. Of course since the hacks some new policies were put in place to prevent anything else from happening, and to my knowledge it has worked.
Being a staff member over there I've helped create rules before, and I don't necessarily like it, but I do it because it helps the site. And that is the main goal of a staff member. If someone breaks rules action -has- to be taken. If you don't take action other members are going to see it as a way to do what they want. And obviously that leads to problems.
I think the best thing that could help is some stricter enforcement on rules. More specifically on the easy ones that are no spamming, flaming, and trolling. If they are new give them a warning, if it keeps up then you just have to use a stricter punishment.
FYI, I'm unsure of the forum advertising rules so until I find out for sure what those are, I won't post the name of said forum. A simple search of Bionicle forum will bring you too it though.
