There's been a glitch discovered with Ness and Lucas's "escaping from grab" animations.
Those particular animations are longer than every other character in the game's. It gives over half the roster ample time to regrab them.
People are exploiting this by grabbing Ness / Lucas, mashing the attack button, then regrabbing them when they escape. There is no way to escape from this, unless your foe is using one of the few characters that can't regrab them. Your opponent can just continuously rack up your damage meter until they can kill you with ease. |

You know, this isn't really a big deal considering that it's easily escapable. Even the AI knows how to escape it.
Goodbai bottom tier. |

I wanna see some video evidence of this "unbreakable" combo--
I can hardly imagine it's true seeing as you can do air breaks (Grab Breaks into an immediate jump), which I do constantly with Ness. |

Trying to find the video for it. I'll let you know when I've managed to refind it.
And jumping out of a grab puts you into an extremely vulnerable position for an aerial. Not to mention that a jump escape isn't possible if the person holding you mashes the attack button fast enough. |

Yea, but atleast it's no longer the infinite grab situation and somehow I feel you're forgetting that theres is a delay for the character being grabbed after a break as well as the person doing the grab.
I really don't believe that there is any weight to this concept.

PK Fire spam is a horrible idea--if anything PK Thunder spam... at least that's effectively annoying... |

Concept? Hardly.
Let me put this in perspective: I did some tests with the technique on a ten-block-long stage builder stage. My characters of choice were Charizard and Marth. I began with a level 9 computer, then moved on to trying it with my moderately experienced friend.
About 90% of the time, I was able to keep Ness in an infinite grab situation from one end of the stage to the other. The other 10% was when I accidentally shielded instead of grabbed. A person who's more familiar with the timing may be able to raise the percent of infinite grabs even more.
The problem with a jump escape is that you have to break out as the hitstun from the attack ends...and some characters' grab attacks are so fast that they keep you in perpetual hitstun. Others have so little room for error that it's just not feasible to consistently jump out of the grab. |
