Y'know, there used to be a time where we had to kill anything that breathed and wasn't like ourselves. Because otherwise they would kill us. So it's only natural that we blam "mister freakies" nowadays.
And even further, there's a one sort of discrimination that people nowadays feed like pets. Or better, it's one that some people feed even better than they feed themselves, thus resulting in deadly anorexia. That's the discrimination against ugly people -- or rather, "ugly" in the 21st Century view. Some six centuries ago, attractive women were fat and gross.

The reason I get pissed off at things like this is because people look at race/gender/sexual orientation a lot more than they look at the PERSON. I mean, there are people I know who've said homosexuals are worse than rapists. And some people say being Caucasian automatically makes you a bigot. I bet you if there was some kind of horrible axe murder massacre, 75% of the people exposed to the resulting media would care more that the culprit was from the Middle East or whatever more than the fact that they were an axe murderer.
The thing that I hate, though, is that there's always some kind of category that EVERYONE seems to ACCEPT being discriminatory to. Like, I get bullcrap for being mixed from all the groups of the racial hierarchy at my school. They treat me like I'm some freak of nature. |

Well, that is stupid... But I personally have harbored myself a littel core of inshakeable faith in humanity's inner good. Hell, I got flames right in this forum just because I posted in a 78 pages Spam topic f they at least could invent something original and creative to repeat over and over instead of the same crap edited via search and replace. And that by members I hitherto respected. But I still have faith in digibutter even though I was called a "big floppy donkey dick".
Geez, why do the definitions of "fun" and "bullcrap" inexplicable interchange once you get your first taste of sexual hormone ? I know that that opinion gives me a reputation of "That guy who's got a stick up his ass", but to be honest - I'm fine with myself ,and if oyu excuse my arrogance, consider my way of behaviour curretnly at least slightly superior to yours. Good day to you.
EDIT: MsDevin, to add to your point: The media always say "radical / fundamentalist islamist". Do they ever say if an attacker was radical or fundamentalist christian ? |
