Sonic is so out of place.
I mean, a pink puffball that can copy powers, an electric rat, a fox with a thing dangling from his waist that can pilot futuristic space vehicles, an elf in a tunic, a plumber who can jump high and shoot fireballs, the plumber's evil counterpart who can fly by farting, a woman bounty hunter in a suit that can shoot a giant laser that knocks off her suit and gives her new attacks, a princess who can pull turnips out of anywhere and whose butt can cause explosions, a kid with a ridiculous blonde haircut.
Sonic is nowhere near weird enough to be in brawl. A blue hedgehog? Not very whacky. |

You seem to be forgetting normal hedgehogs don't have blue fur and run at breakneck speed...
And besides, fans had wanted Sonic to be in since Melee. Sakurai knew it would have been a let down to exclude him.
So what if he has abilities that are supposedly "out of place"? He's still a gaming icon regardless. |
