Many members overdose on digibutter and then try to quit the site cold-turkey. So what if you could limit your access when you feel like you are getting too much of this good thing? Like, set a limit of a few hours a day, and if you go over, it automatically logs you out?

I know, its a crazy idea. But it seems silly for people to leave the site because they like it too much. It may be addicting, so maybe some forced-self-control would help Confused

Thats not a crazy idea, hell thats a GREAT idea. Digi is pretty much like a drug, thats why everyone lets all there emotions and stuff out here most of the time since everyone seems to be addicted to this place.

So yeah, you should do that. And plus alot of forums have that feature so that would be a good idea.

How about you get a little pop-up if you stay "active" for a long time at once without logging out, sugggesting you go do something else like play a video game or read a book? It's automatically set to an hour and a half, but you can edit that in your profile. You would not count as being "active" on the site if you have done nothing for 10 minutes, and the timer would stop, reset to 0, and then start up again once you have done something. That way, I wouldn't get back on the site for 20 minutes, eat dinar for a half hour but forget to log out, and then 40 minutes after I get back on I randomly get logged off.

I like the Idea provided it stays purely optional.

It can also be a bit of a "homework" timer

...
No.
Or yes if it's optional, but there is no way, I'd use it. I have no want to be logged out forcefully by anybody but my mom.

I can in no way ever imagine needing something like this. Perhap some people have mental problems, so I suppose I can't relate. I won't let my personal unrelation affect my personal judgement and opinion, so I suppose if some users need this, then there is no negative aspect to doing it. Regardless of whether I understand why anyone would need this done or not.

+1 Support Point. Many members do wish, that they could keep their addiction of digibutter undercontrol, and with this solution, it might solve the problem of people leaving. Also, for some, who are addicted to digibutter, and are supposed to be doing homework or studying for a test, can use it as a timer, so that way, they will finish their homework or finish studying for a quiz/test. Then, we may not have as many members leaving...
