you know if you were an ACTUAL smart person and you believed in Science, this would make complete sense. I enjoyed watching this. After watching this, I really think all this religion around the world are just a waste of time that justs corrupts your mind with this "god"
Nice one there, insulting the ~90% of the world that believes in a god. I believe in God, why do you think that means that I am not smart and that I don't believe in Science?
This video poses some good questions, things that should be thought and talked about, and many Christians do go on without ever thinking about these things. Where this video went too far was to assume that he knows what all Christians believe, and then go on to dismiss these questions without really looking for answers.
I wish people could keep an open mind, instead of assuming billions of people and thousands of years of history are a waste of time.
I never said Christians themselves were dumb. I just personally think this made sense. I agree that near the end about the imaginary part that was going a bit over the border line. But the questions themselves were very interesting to think about. I thought about each of them. And...I just happen to believe him for the most part. I think he asked us these questions for US to find the answer, thats why he reall didn't give us the answers. For example, that starvation question. Why does God help some 'unimportant' people while he lets the others die of starvation when they are in need of food. Its like criminals win and a lot of good people loses :/

Asking people to start being open-minded is like asking fire to start being cold...it's just not going to happen.
I may get flame for this, but oh well. I'll post my opinion anyway.
I, myself, am not much of a fan of organized religion, but... my word. Seriously, I probably wouldn't have had such a problem with it if it weren't for the whole "you are wrong blah blah" crap at the end. Then again, it's silly enough for people like him to actually go to the trouble, and make a "mission" out of trying to tell people that they're wrong.
This is just as bad as the extreme, dogmatic preachers that show extreme hatred towards those who aren't religious, and shove their views down people's throats. This is the very definition of arrogance, as it, too, is an attempt at shoving exaggerated views down society's throats. I can understand if an atheist explains why he/she does not believe in God, but to go and tell people that they are wrong, and that they should change their views, is a bunch of bullshit.
The fact of the matter is, religion does not hurt the species as a whole, no matter how "delusional" it is. Heck, it's probably delusional to believe that it does, as that opinion is false. Religion has existed since the dawn of time. Are we still living in a world without education or technology? Are we living in a world without art or science? Of course not- society has been able to advance, and it continues to advance, even with religion. Now, I don't consider myself "religious"- I really don't consider myself anything, for that matter- but I do realize that human advancement can continue with it, at least in these modern times.
This is borderline, no, it is treading in to the world of "People who believe in God are inferior" opinions. The world has had many great scientists, artists, and philosophers- some religious, some atheist, some agnostic- and they have all contributed to the advancement of human society.
The moral of the story is- let people believe what they want to believe. They are not hurting the society as a whole. Whether they are hurting themselves or not, well, that's up to them to judge.
Edit: I do find some of the questions hilarious, such as #9. Such misinformation creates a loss in credibility.
For example, that starvation question. Why does God help some 'unimportant' people while he lets the others die of starvation when they are in need of food. Its like criminals win and a lot of good people loses :/
They starve because they don't have food, and they don't have food probably because thier government is corrupted. I dont think God "helps" anyone directly, instead he works through other people. Like he might lead someone to go give a starving person some food, something you may refer to as your "concience". Of course, we have the free will to ignore that "leading", robbing someone of a potential "miracle".
This goes back to the video's and your incorrect assumption that you know what we believe.
There are many questions that can't be answered without a belief in superior beings, of course. But there are others that can't be answered with a belief in superior beings, too.
I know that the Big Bang theory leads into an infinite pre-evolution line... But if I look at it the other way, where did God came from? What was HE created from?
In the current world we live in, there are many religious cultures... That's the case, so which culture tells the truth?
But sometimes, when I hear and analyze content from the bible to current history, it makes all sense.
First, let me talk a bit about history.
- 27 BC. The roman empire goes take over all of Western Europe. - 0 JC is born and shit - 20~ JC says that the empire they live in is shit that sucks He also says that God sent him to tell them that. And that he is God's son. Afterward people wrote the holy bible. - 33 Jesus is left attached on a cross toward his slow and painful death because he was said to be a traitor to the romans. - The 400 years after that More people started to believe Jesus, eventually resulting in the Roman Empire's downfall.
^ This is history told on a somewhat objective point.
Okay, now let's compare some stuff that the bible says (I can't quote exactly, so I'll say roughly what it says)
"Jesus changed water into wine" You see, while this sentence doesn't seem to make sense whatsoever, if you view it from a metaphorical way, it all makes sense.
Statement: Roman life was boring as shit, bland like water Jesus came and make life all better, tasteful like wine.
Haha. Some people think they know so much, yet they don't.
I'm a Christian. And I believe the Bible is 100 % true. And no atheïst or muslim has yet given me a list of ''contradictions and errors'' I could not work down and declare.
Why are bad things happening in this world? Isn't it obvious? PEOPLE. All bad things- every single one of them- are caused by people. God gave people a good earth to take care of and what do they do? They destroy beautiful nature. And next, they blame God for the misery they brought on themselves. Seriously, that's like renting a house, smashing it to pieces and blaming the person who rented it to you.
Since I'm agnostic... I'm skeptical of religion in general. Some people call me atheist, which really pisses me off sometimes, because they can't tell the difference.
I take the scientific approach to almost everything. While the Big bang *may* have happened, I don't believe it did on its own. But then again, I don't believe it was God that did it. It's an unexplainable event.
But I don't believe God began life on Earth. I'm an evolutionist. I think humans evolved from little strands of atoms. A good example is that "God created people in his image". Well, if the first people were proven to be cavemen (there IS proof), then does that mean God resembles an ape? Then why wasn't Jesus a gorilla-like being?
I usually avoid religion, because it has only brought bad stuff. Since the majority of my family is Roman Catholic, I have to deal with shit almost every day I see the extended family, asking if I've gone to church yet, and of course the answer will be "no".
Ugh... Wel;l, enough with this rant. I need to get back to work on my Flash project.

There is no way to prove a religion 100% right or wrong. But let me say that religion gives an answer to life. And that's important, no? Sometimes you need to know why there is life, and religions are the only thing that can provide an answer. Which either this is answer is right or wrong is only decided by you, by what you do believe, and nothing else.
As someone who choose to not believe a religion, I can't come up with an answer to life. In fact, many didn't, and some of them thought about suicide because life was pointless.
However, I do believe in fun, which gives a little bit of sense to my life.Insert text here
I wasn't able to watch the video, as my computer is not working properly T_T
But I would like to say this:
What does it matter what we believe in? Why do you Atheists try to prove us wrong? WHAT DOES IT MATTER IF I BELIEVE IN GOD?! Is that wrong to believe in something? Why believe in nothing? Can you seriously believe that death is the end? That there is nothing more. Why not have some hope? It just seems depressing to think that when you die, it's all over.
What harm does having a religion do? As long as your not shoving it down peoples throats, you don't have any right to stop us. If the religion is beneficial, I say go for it. Who can argue against "Love your neighbor as you love yourself," or "Thou shall not lie," or even "Respect thy Father and Mother?" If your helping people, and improving society. I don't see a damn problem with it.
It's proven that those that pray and are religious have healthier immune systems. And you know what, it makes sense! It releives so much stress to put your problems on a higher being. Let someone else take care of it.
I still don't see why there is a dang problem with religion.
Personally, I think it's all subject to debate. There's no finite proof for any side, so why not let have everyone choose what they want to believe.
There's only one thing I hate; when any religion is forced someone's throat, that's just denying people the right to choose. I'm happy to come from a non-religious family, because I don't have to atone to the beliefs of anybody else.
The main point I want to argue right now is: what is the problem with being a random chance. I find it much more appealing to think that I just happened to be, than that I was thought of. Why can you not believe that we are random coincidences? Also, what created God? If you say another God, what created it? The same logic can be applied to the big bang theory. Why can't it be that way?
Also, try reading The God Delusion, and tell me if it doesn't shake your thoughts just a little bit. At least consider it.
vg nailed one of my most persistent thoughts perfectly.
Also, I'm not attacking religion exactly, but one thing that has always offended me is statements like that second video saying 'there is no one who does good', or something like that. It seems that as far as the Bible is concerned to most, all people are still bad in the end because of a mistake one guy made. It's never right to place all pressure determining the fate of an entire race on one individual like that, nor is it right to have another person suffer to atone for all of it even when they're a good person. That just seems to work out into saying that good people have to suffer for bad people.
From what I can interpret, of course. But everyone is going to hate me for this anyway. ;;
