Also, I'm not attacking religion exactly, but one thing that has always offended me is statements like that second video saying 'there is no one who does good', or something like that. It seems that as far as the Bible is concerned to most, all people are still bad in the end because of a mistake one guy made. It's never right to place all pressure determining the fate of an entire race on one individual like that, nor is it right to have another person suffer to atone for all of it even when they're a good person. That just seems to work out into saying that good people have to suffer for bad people.
From what I can interpret, of course. But everyone is going to hate me for this anyway. ;; |
actually, i completely agree with you. it seems like the guy was answering the question very honestly and he did seem smart...but at the same time he seemed to have gone a little overboard with his answers...he must have been a strong Christian. He DID mention MANY MANY times that humans did no good. I'm not sure about you guys, but what the first video said...I do think they have a point, but thats just me. I wasn't a very strong religious person anyways. I think we should just have our choice of what to believe in too :< |

But I would like to say this:
What does it matter what we believe in? Why do you Atheists try to prove us wrong? WHAT DOES IT MATTER IF I BELIEVE IN GOD?! Is that wrong to believe in something? Why believe in nothing? Can you seriously believe that death is the end? That there is nothing more. Why not have some hope? It just seems depressing to think that when you die, it's all over.
What harm does having a religion do? As long as your not shoving it down peoples throats, you don't have any right to stop us. If the religion is beneficial, I say go for it. Who can argue against "Love your neighbor as you love yourself," or "Thou shall not lie," or even "Respect thy Father and Mother?" If your helping people, and improving society. I don't see a damn problem with it.
It's proven that those that pray and are religious have healthier immune systems. And you know what, it makes sense! It releives so much stress to put your problems on a higher being. Let someone else take care of it.
I still don't see why there is a dang problem with religion. |
That's why I don't affiliate with any religion, because religion is another word for "Religious Faction That Hates You For Not Believing What We Believe" or "Nazis."
Also that second video Brak posted doesn't explain *crag* anything, it just elegantly dances around the questions. |

That's why I like Buddhism. From what I know, the current Dalhi Lama accepts whatever new scientific findings are released due to the athiestic nature of Buddhism. |

I'm not a smart person, and I'm not really christian, but I do believe in God. So here are all my answers.
1. It is God's will for a person to be amputated.
2. How do you know that these "starving" people pray? They might not even know what religion is.
3. It's not literal but spirtual. But of course these people who "work on the sabbath" CAN ask for forgiveness. Another words, God just wants us to know that he did not create this world for homosexuality, diisobiedience, perverted thoughts, and so forth.
4. There is no proof that God did not create the world in 6 days, there is no proof that there never was a flood, no proof of Jonah not living in a whale, and there is no proof that God did NOT create Adam.
5. He went through that awefully fast, and instead of showing the verses, he decides to tell the viewers to look at it ourselves. And I am too lazy to do that..Either way, many historic people that are icons (Jefferson, Columbus) all were slave owners as well. He does encourage for sacrafices.
6. There are no good people in the world, and we commit sins every day, or maybe you committed a sin in the past. This is God's plan, and your life is what God demands.
7. If God turned water to wine, and everyone drank it up, how can you find it? When God departed the seas to open then close again, how you can it leave behind any evidence? When God walked on water, does his footprints stay on the water? Of course not, its common sense.
8. What the hell was that supposed to mean? Really, This question was poorly described.
9. Lmao. This guy is an IDIOT. The bible says that Jesus' Body is bread, and his blood is wine, not speaking literally. He just wants you to know that he created bread and wine for you to eat and drink. Very, stupid question. Obviously this guy never read the bible throughly.
10. How do you know if they are even Christians? Because they say so?
Well, yeah, that's it.
If anyone comes inches away from flaming me, you are stupid and not respectful in any manner and should be ashamed. Oh, and Popple, most Christians do not hate people for not believing in their religion. They encourage them and talk to them about what it is, to open their eyes a bit wider about religion instead of them getting on the internet and blobbing away about stuff they do not know or understand. |

To get a bit more on topic myself, I must say that I don't believe in fate.
You know, if I were Christian right now I'd say that maybe God doesn't make EVERYTHING happen. It's like saying that God controls your thoughts and what you are going to do at every single step.
If a person was amputee, I wouldn't think it would result from God sending to him a person to accidentally cut a tree that lands on his leg.
But I'm not Christian, and I don't know much of this. |

I'd go on about Larry's points but Popple's and Francine's statements already disprove them enough.
But I'll tell something about Francis' and possibly a few others' points. Yes, there is a problem in the existance of religion. Religious conflicts exist and make for chaos and killing for no decent reason; the power of Christianity in the past ruined our progress, hence we all know our medicine would be 100 years advanced if Leonardo da Vinci wasn't being interrupted by a religious institution, and even nowadays, studious people let themselves get held up in their studies by religion, and some schools waste time they could use for useful classes to teach Religious Education; Many people could have solved their problems or widespread ones if they stood up for themselves, but instead, they chose to hope God fills their laziness up. And it's obvious that these people didn't manage to solve their problems.
Overall, I'll tell you, the only reason why some of you are Christian up to that age is because your parents just shoved it down your throats. Just think about it. Did you know Moses smoked some sort of grass in a "coincidentally" close time to when he had his first visions? Of course not, because the people in the media are Christians because everyone got it shoved down their throats, and they want the audience from the forced Christians that compose 1/3 of our dead world's human population.
All of that, because the influence you had been put through made you biased. And people are so biased that they'll repress truth if it comes up. _________________ My siggy is original. |

He just wants you to know that he created bread and wine for you to eat and drink. Very, stupid question. Obviously this guy never read the bible throughly. In Roman Catholicism, it is believed that the Holy Eucharist is truly the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ. It is even said during a Catholic mass "work of human hands", not God's.
10. How do you know if they are even Christians? Because they say so? ... I have no reply. |
If anyone wants to know, I was raised heavily Roman Catholic and I still know a heck of a lot of stuff about it even though I don't personally believe in it myself. |
1. God isn't easy going, if you are going to be a jackass, God will PUNISH.
2. Maybe they haven't asked for forgiveness? Or how about they keep sinning over and over again.
3. God made mortal beings for a person. If you sin, you are already dead. Spiritually.
4. There is proof of the ark, ?, So can Christianity beliefs.
5. Nobody is holy but God. Look at 3 for your second statement.
6. Thanks, you now just proved my point to popple.
7. :{
8. That is Cathelic belief. But is it true? No. Like I said, I can't eat bread and shit out Jesus's arm. It's impossible. It is not Jesus, it is what he gave us. God spoke many MANY parables, They may have different subjects but they all prove a simple point.
9. Crap, I mixed up my numbers. Anyways, OK. If you have no reply, I will not comment.
There are many different Christian beliefs Francine. Catholicism isn't the only one. And just with every belief, there is error. |

So anyways, I am getting tired of taking turns describing each others opinions.
The bottom line is, I have my beliefs, you have yours.
If you care at all about what I believe, you are a fool. If you continue to place your opinion over mine, making yours sound like it is true, you are a ignorant Jackass. If you continue to argue, you are immature, and do not know what STOP means.
So with that said, Thank you for killing some of my time Popple and Francine, I respect both of your beliefs, I hope you respect mine, Have a bloody goodnight! |

So you can call people wrong, but I can't.
