who mains Lucas because he fits your play style is what i was looking for though.
seriously, people main him because everyone loves him and the game he's from
i have yet to see a "good" lucas, only spammers ><

I play him because I enjoy playing all sorts of characters, however, I managed to fit a strategy around his strange attacks.
Although his jump return sucks and is pretty risky half the time, his A-Up smash is godly if used well.
I don't play Lucas because of the fact that he came from Mother 3.
I don't play him because of his personality.
I play him because of his strange, occasionally stalled, attacks. |

Too bad, no one in America has any idea about Lucas' personality because there's no translated version of MOTHER 3, so thattakes that out of the question. |

You yourself said you hate how you like Toon link as a character, and the people who hate him play him because he's good, so you don't like him much anymore.
The same case is with Lucas, except noone likes him in the first place.
Seriously. Use people you like, not people who are good. I use Ness, despite that sometimes, he kind of sucks, (seeing as Ness's playstyle physically can't beat Ike.) I like Ness more than the others, so I evidentally use Ness. |

Uh, usually I grow a liking for characters I do well with. Also, I prviously liked about 90% of the roster, there were only the ones I didn't even know but sympatized with on spot.

I use people that fits my style: Good air game and easy to control and floaty characters. Jigglypuff is PERFECT with this and Meta Knight has killer aerials and easy to use in the air. Peach's aerials are like my style also so I use her.
I only use Ike, ROB, and Yoshi because all three fits my other play style, killer ground moves, all three with decent air game :) |
