To make it less cryptic.
Original in the case of Brawl music means that if it is basically un-changed except for length, like Live and Learn, then it doesn't count as a remix. |

That's a good example.
The same can be said for The Forest of Hope from Pikmin, as it uses both the normal theme and the version of the theme when you're in battle.
There are many different examples, but I think you get the point. |

A Medley can be made from normal music.
Listen to afew Genisis Sonic credits themes to see what I mean. |
