Because I'm always afraid that if I turn a corner I'll be ripped to shreds by some sort of unexpected generic bloodthirsty maneating horror-game enemy when I forget that all I have is this shitty crowbar due to wasting so much ammunition on random rooms full of undead something-or-others that turn out just to be objecs of my paranoia, and that I just wasted 40 rounds of ammo on a wall. Of course, this applies to games of this sort in general. Not a big fan of the genre. Smile

I wasn't really scared. But trying to go through Ravenholm with ONLY the Grav Gun is annoying. Good thing I was able to accomplish that.

But, I did love setting the zombies on fire and hear them scream. Especially the zombie that's trapped in the flaming cage.

The first time I ran through Ravenholm, just about EVERYTHING scared the living crag out of me. Nowadays, when I run through, I might jump at the occasional unexpected Berserk Headcrab Zombie, but other than that, I'm going "DIE! DIE! DIE!"

All while happily wielding my shotgun. Smile

Also, because I've played the game enough times, I've memorized what to expect when I run on through...it still freaks me out sometimes, though. The mine is STILL the most annoying part of the level, I feel.

@ whoever made the gravity-gun hacker comment: yeah, I do that, too. I make sure that it's off (if it isn't already), then when zombies come near, I start spinning that little sucker. 'Tis quite effective. Very Happy

You know, these Poison head crabs are later on used for health powerups - your HEV suit will admister an antidote restoring you to full health over some time, so if you can get them to stay away, you're fine.

Anyway, has anyone read the Webcomic "Concerned", about the misadventures of the really stupid Gordon Frohman ?

They use Ravenholm. At day. With bloom.

It's f*cking beautiful.

I second this man's opinion heartily. Smile

Didn't it get canceled, though? I seem to remember seeing that message at some point... Sad

I'm just now playing through the series, just got to We Don't Go to Ravenholm. I like how you find the Ravenholm sign on the ground right when you get there and the music. It's really creepy. Dead zombies everywhere, live zombies everywhere...well, I guess they're already dead, but there's still lots of zombies. I haven't gotten to the point where Fast Zombies appear, but I'm sure I'll find them soon.

Actually, it reached it's end, rather than being cancelled
We saw half of his life, and his death.
Just as the subtitle said.
